MaxCompute provides an exclusive resource group in data transmission service (subscription) for customers with specific data transmission requirements. This service ensures the exclusivity of data transmission resources and enhances the stability of data transmission. This topic describes the billing rules for the exclusive resource group in data transmission service (subscription) of MaxCompute.
Background information
MaxCompute offers a complimentary public data transmission service resource group in each region for customer use, along with a subscription-based exclusive data transmission service resource group for enhanced data synchronization stability and concurrency. The following table shows a comparison of these two resource group types:
Resource group type | Fee description | Supported regions | Usage notes |
Public data transmission service resource group | Free of charge | Available in all MaxCompute regions |
|
Exclusive data transmission service resource group (subscription) | Subscription, billed based on the number of concurrency purchased slots. For more information, see Exclusive data transmission service resource group pricing. |
| After purchasing the exclusive data transmission service resource group, MaxCompute ensures that your purchased resources are fully locked for your use only, and other tenants are not able to use them. This guarantees the exclusivity of your data transfer resources and also enhances the stability of data transmission. |
Exclusive data transmission service resource group pricing

Measurement metric | Region | Public cloud unit price | Payment amount |
Single concurrency |
| USD 11/month | Actual payment amount = unit price * purchased concurrency * number of months |

Upgrade and downgrade
You can upgrade and downgrade the exclusive data service transfer resource group you have purchased, according to the following policies:
Upgrade policies
Scenario: You can upgrade the data transmission service resource group by purchasing additional concurrency when the existing concurrency does not suffice for your business requirements.
Effective policy: The newly purchased concurrency is immediately added to the transfer service group quota as exclusive resources and becomes effective at once. For upgrades, you can purchase up to 500 concurrency units on the purchase page. To acquire more than this limit, visit the Quota Center page, in the left-side navigation pane of the Quota Center page, choose Privileges, and then click Apply in the Actions column of the quota named The number of resource units that can be purchased for MaxCompute (subscription) exceeds the default maximum equity to submit a quota application. After the application is successful, proceed with the purchase.
Billing cycle: The additional concurrency takes effect immediately upon activation and enters the billing cycle, remaining active until the purchased duration expires.
Downgrade policies
Scenario: If the purchased concurrency for the exclusive data transmission service resource group exceeds your future business needs, you can downgrade and release the surplus concurrency.
ImportantWe recommend that you release unneeded resources promptly to avoid continued charges, as fees will accrue regardless of whether the Slot is actually being used.
Refund policy: Upon a successful downgrade, the excess resources are released immediately, and a proportional refund for the remaining subscription period of the released resource group is credited to your account.
