This topic describes the billing, expiration, overdue payment, and renewal rules for different editions of Database Autonomy Service (DAS). The Basic Edition is free of charge and is not described in this topic.

Important

New purchases of Enterprise Edition V0, V1, and V2 are not supported. You can no longer increase the quota for Enterprise Edition V1.

The monthly fee for the Basic Edition
- This fee corresponds to a usage quota of 100,000 characters. If you do not use the entire quota within the current month, the remaining characters are cleared and cannot be rolled over to the next month. The monthly fee is non-refundable.
- If you unsubscribe in advance, the monthly fee is refunded on a pro-rata basis after deducting the fee for the days the service has been used in the current month. For example, if the monthly fee outside the Chinese mainland is USD 30, the month has 30 days, and you have used the service for 10 days, you will receive a refund of USD 20 upon unsubscription.
- The character count for the DAS Agent product includes the characters in Q&A pairs and O&M reports. Characters include Chinese characters, English letters, punctuation marks, line feeds, and other special characters.
- DAS Agent does not use tokens for metering because we want to provide a What You See Is What You Get (WYSIWYG) experience for users. For example, if a user asks whether an instance is abnormal, DAS Agent queries and makes a judgment based on multiple metrics, such as CPU utilization, I/O, queries per second (QPS), transactions per second (TPS), and memory, along with slow SQL statement lists, lock analysis results, and even security risk detection results. The specific check items depend on the inference results of the agent, but these common issue types are generally covered. This process consumes many tokens. If an exception exists, the answer may contain thousands of characters. If no exception exists, the answer may be as short as "This instance has no exceptions in its current state." To provide a more intuitive understanding of usage, we bill based on the number of characters in the Q&A pairs. Generally, a Q&A session for SQL optimization or CPU utilization anomaly diagnosis consumes about 1,000 to 5,000 characters. An O&M report consumes about 5,000 characters. The monthly fee for the Basic Edition covers approximately 15 to 50 diagnoses or reports, depending on the complexity of the Q&A. Audit Log (NoSQL Compatible)

Audit Log (NoSQL Compatible) supports Redis/Tair, MongoDB, and Lindorm databases.

Hot storage		USD 0.00133/GB/hour	The fee for hot log storage is charged based on the log volume and storage duration. If you enable cold storage, logs are automatically transferred from hot storage to cold storage for free upon expiration. Logs can be stored in hot storage for a maximum of 7 days.

Billing examples

Audit Log (NoSQL Compatible) provides features such as log query, online analysis, and export. It helps security auditors promptly detect abnormal data operations and quickly identify the user identity and timestamp of data modifications. It also helps business systems meet security and compliance requirements and assists developers and O&M engineers in identifying performance issues.

Assume that your instance has 10 GB of inbound traffic per day. You set the SQL Log Storage Duration to 180 days and enable Log Indexing with a hot storage duration of 7 days for performance troubleshooting.

Note

The SQL Log Storage Duration is the total storage duration for your SQL Logs. By default, logs are stored in cold storage.
To meet compliance regulations in the Chinese mainland, the cold storage duration must be at least 180 days.

Note

The audit log record type affects the amount of logs saved and the associated fees. You can customize the configuration after enabling this feature.

Enterprise Edition V3

Important

To better meet regulatory requirements such as MLPS and GDPR regarding backup and recovery of database audit logs, Enterprise Edition V3 provides multi-AZ backup, accidental deletion recovery, and long-term retention capabilities for logs stored for more than 180 days.

Expiration policy

For DAS O&M Service (formerly Economy Edition), Audit Log, and DAS Agent, you can no longer use the features of the corresponding DAS edition after your subscription expires.

Overdue payments

If your Alibaba Cloud account has an overdue payment, DAS Professional Edition under this account will enter the Overdue state. Overdue payments do not affect O&M Service (formerly Economy Edition) that uses the subscription billing method.

Note

The usage history of DAS Agent is retained for one month. The historical usage records of DAS Agent are purged if the monthly fee for the Individual/Small Business Edition is not paid in the following month, or if auto-renewal for the Enterprise Edition fails for one month. You should save your information promptly.

Renewal policy

For DAS Enterprise Edition V1, the fee consists of two parts: a subscription fee and a storage fee for SQL Explorer. Renewal refers to extending the subscription period of DAS Enterprise Edition. The storage fee for SQL Explorer data is pay-as-you-go and does not require renewal. You only need to ensure that your Alibaba Cloud account has a sufficient balance.
For DAS O&M Service (formerly Economy Edition), the service is billed on a subscription basis. Renewal refers to extending the subscription period of O&M Service (formerly Economy Edition).
For DAS Agent, the service is billed on a subscription basis. Renewal refers to extending the subscription period of DAS Agent.

DAS supports manual and auto-renewal to extend the service period. For more information, see Manage renewals.

Unsubscription policy

Before unsubscribing from DAS Enterprise Edition or Alibaba Cloud Managed Services (formerly DAS Economy Edition), review the associated precautions and instructions. For more information, see Shut down the DAS audit log and Alibaba Cloud Managed Services (formerly DAS Economy Edition).
After you cancel DAS Agent, all features provided by the service are disabled. The usage history is retained for 30 days.

Important

After you unsubscribe from DAS Enterprise Edition, all paid and enhanced features, such as SQL Explorer and Audit, for the corresponding database instance are disabled, and all related data is purged. If you only want to reduce storage costs, you can reduce the storage duration for SQL Explorer and Audit data.
When you cancel DAS O&M Service (formerly Economy Edition), all value-added and new features are disabled, and all related historical data is purged.
