Equipped with out-of-the-box observability suitable for most objects on the cloud, including infrastructure, applications, and cloud services, the flexible full-stack observable data integration center of Alibaba Cloud Managed Service for Prometheus helps you efficiently build a full-stack observability platform.
Terms
environment
Traces are distributed through the following environments:
ACK environment: A Container Service for Kubernetes (ACK) environment is an ACK cluster with a large amount of data that can be collected. Managed Service for Prometheus provides automatic trace management to help you intelligently install agents and process data.
VPC environment: A VPC environment contains Elastic Compute Service (ECS) instance data that is pulled through virtual private clouds (VPCs). Application Real-Time Monitoring Service (ARMS) preferentially collects data through VPCs to minimize the number of agents installed in ECS instances.
Alibaba Cloud service environment: One Alibaba Cloud service environment can be created in a region to integrate the monitoring data of an Alibaba Cloud service.
By default, each environment is associated with a Prometheus instance to store metric data. For components such as Application Monitoring and Alibaba Cloud Managed Service for OpenTelemetry, not all metric data can be stored.
component
Each component is used to monitor an infrastructure or a service to implement features, such as metric collection, data visualization, and alert rules.
Procedure
Log on to the ARMS console.
In the left-side navigation pane, click Integration Center.
On the Integration Center page, click a component.
In the panel that appears, select an environment on the Start Integration tab.
Optional. Configure the parameters as prompted. For more information about how to configure other parameters, see Integrate services or components.
Click OK. Wait until the environment initialization, component installation, and data check are complete.
If everything is normal, you can go to the environment details page through the Integration Management page to query the dashboards and alert rules. You can also explore the metrics that are generated.
If an exception occurs, troubleshoot the exception as prompted.
NoteYou can perform subsequent operations on the Integration Management page.
