After you activate Web Application Firewall (WAF) 3.0, you can view the usage and costs for your pay-as-you-go and subscription instances on the WAF bill management page or in Expenses and Costs. This topic describes how to view daily bills and expense details for WAF 3.0.
Prerequisites
You have an active Pay-as-you-go WAF 3.0 service.
View daily bills
The WAF console generates daily bills based on your usage. You can view the expense details in Expenses and Costs. For more information, see View expense details.
Pay-as-you-go instances
For pay-as-you-go instances, the Traffic Processing Fee and Feature Fee are calculated hourly based on the volume of processed business requests and the enabled protection features. Bills are generated on an hourly basis. A daily bill is generated for each billing cycle. All fees are converted to Security Capacity Units (SeCUs) for metering and billing. You can also switch the metering unit to or USD.
Daily bills for pay-as-you-go instances do not include fees for the WAF log service. These fees are billed by Simple Log Service (SLS). For more information about how to query Simple Log Service bills, see Query bills.
If you enable WAF protection for an Application Load Balancer (ALB) instance, the ALB service also incurs charges in addition to the WAF fees. For more information about how to query ALB bills, see Query bills and view expense details.
For more information about billing for pay-as-you-go instances, see Billing information.
Procedure
Log on to the Web Application Firewall 3.0 console. From the top menu bar, select the resource group and region (Chinese Mainland or Outside Chinese Mainland) for the WAF instance.
In the navigation pane on the left, choose .
On the Bill Management page, view the bill details.
Today's Estimated Bill
This section shows the estimated costs from 00:00:00 of the current day to the end of the last full hour. For example, if the current time is 17:07:02, the end time is 16:59:59.
NoteThis is an estimated bill. The final bill for the day is based on the bill that is generated on the next day (T+1).
View bill details
Click View Details to view the traffic processing fee and the costs incurred by features in use from 00:00:00 of the current day to the end of the last full hour. A green billing status indicates that the feature is incurring costs. A gray status indicates that no costs are being incurred.
Daily Bills for the Last 7 Days
In the Actions column, click View Details to view the Total Cost, Hourly Bill, and Details of Hourly Bill for a daily bill.
Total Bill: Includes the Traffic Processing Fee and Feature Fee.
Hourly Bill Details: Shows the costs for each full hour.
NoteThe Traffic Billing Protection feature is enabled by default for pay-as-you-go instances. If the peak QPS for an hour exceeds the Traffic Billing Protection Threshold, the instance enters the sandbox. In this case, no bill is generated for that hour, and the total fee is 0. However, the Traffic Processing Fee and Feature Fee are still calculated. You can view the costs saved by the Traffic Billing Protection feature in the hourly bill details. For more information, see View hourly costs for traffic protection.
Hourly Expense Details: Shows the details of the Traffic Processing Fee and Feature Fee for the hour.
You can view the expense details for a specific hour. By default, the sum of expenses for 24 hours is displayed.
Subscription instances
When you purchase a new subscription instance, the instance fee is charged at once in Expenses and Costs.
If you upgrade an instance, purchase value-added services, upgrade the specifications of a value-added service, or renew a subscription, Bill Management immediately charges the applicable fees. In these cases, WAF does not generate daily bills. For more information, see Upgrades and downgrades or Renewal policy.
If you enable the elastic pay-as-you-go feature and your peak QPS exceeds the purchased QPS, WAF settles the fees for the excess QPS and generates a daily bill. For more information, see Elastic Pay-as-you-go Billing Items and Elastic Pay-as-you-go Bill Management.
