Web Application Firewall:View bills

Last Updated:Aug 20, 2024

After you purchase a Web Application Firewall (WAF) 3.0 instance, you can view the resource usage details and fees of the instance on the Bills page in the WAF 3.0 console. You can view bills in the Expenses and Costs console. This topic describes how to view the daily bills and billing details of WAF 3.0.

Prerequisites

A WAF 3.0 instance is purchased. For more information, see Purchase a subscription WAF 3.0 instance and Purchase a pay-as-you-go WAF 3.0 instance.

View daily bills

Daily bills are generated based on your resource usage. You can view the daily bills in the WAF console. You can view the billing details in the Expenses and Costs console. For more information, see View billing details.

Pay-as-you-go WAF instances

If you use a pay-as-you-go WAF instance, you are charged traffic processing fees and feature fees. Hourly bills are generated every hour. Daily bills are generated at the end of each billing cycle. All fees are calculated based on security capacity units (SeCUs). You can also view the fees in USD.

Important
  • The daily bills of pay-as-you-go WAF instances do not include fees for the Simple Log Service for WAF feature. The fees for the Simple Log Service for WAF feature are included in Simple Log Service (SLS) bills. For information about how to query Simple Log Service bills, see Query bills.

  • If you enable WAF protection for an Application Load Balancer (ALB) instance, WAF and ALB charge you fees. For information about how to query ALB bills, see Query billing and spending details.

  • For information about the billing details of pay-as-you-go WAF instances, see Billing overview.

View daily bills

  1. Log on to the WAF 3.0 console. In the top navigation bar, select the resource group and the region in which the WAF instance is deployed. You can select Chinese Mainland or Outside Chinese Mainland for the region.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Systems > Bills.

  3. On the Bills page, you can query the billing details.

    • Estimated Bill for Today

Displays the fees that are charged from 00:00:00 on the current day to the current time. Fees are calculated on an hourly basis. For example, if the current time is 17:07:02, the fees that are charged from 00:00:00 to 16:59:59 are displayed.

      Note

The estimated bill is generated based on your previous resource usage. The final daily bill is generated the next day based on your actual resource usage.

    • View Billing Details

Displays the traffic processing fees and feature fees that are charged from 00:00:00 on the current day to the current time. Fees are calculated on an hourly basis. If a feature is in green, you are charged for the feature. If a feature is in gray, you are not charged for the feature.

    • Daily Bills in Previous 7 Days

Find the bill whose details you want to view and click View Details in the Actions column to view the Total Cost, Hourly Bill, and Details of Hourly Bill.

      • Total Cost: the traffic processing fees and feature fees.Traffic Processing Fee,Feature Fee

      • Details of Hourly Bill: the fees for each hour.

        Note

By default, the Traffic Billing Protection feature is enabled for pay-as-you-go WAF instances. If the peak queries per second (QPS) bound for a WAF instance exceeds the specified threshold for traffic billing protection, the WAF instance is added to a sandbox. You are not charged Traffic Processing Fee or Feature Fee for the hour when the WAF instance is added to a sandbox. The hourly bills summarize your savings during the billing period as a result of the traffic billing protection feature. For more information, see Traffic billing protection.

      • Details of Hourly Bill: the details of traffic processing fees and feature fees that are charged every hour.Traffic Processing Fee,Feature Fee

You can view the fees for each hour. By default, the total fees generated within the previous 24 hours are displayed.

Subscription WAF instances

When you purchase a subscription WAF instance, Expenses and Costs charges you fees before you can use the instance.

  • If you upgrade the instance, purchase a value-added service, upgrade the specification of a value-added service, or renew the instance after you purchase a subscription WAF instance, Expenses and Costs also charges you fees. In this case, daily bills are not generated. For more information, see Upgrade or downgrade a WAF instance and Renewal policy.

  • If you enable the burstable QPS (pay-as-you-go) feature and your peak QPS exceeds the purchased QPS quota, WAF calculates the fees for excess QPS and generates daily bills. For more information, see the "Billable items" and "Manage bills" sections in the Burstable QPS (pay-as-you-go) topic.
