If you use a pay-as-you-go Web Application Firewall (WAF) 3.0 instance, you can purchase security capacity unit (SeCU) resource plans to offset traffic processing fees and feature fees and reduce costs. This topic describes how to purchase and use SeCU resource plans.
SeCU
Pay-as-you-go WAF 3.0 uses SeCUs as billing units. SeCUs have the following attributes:
The unit price of a SeCU is USD 0.01.
The SeCU usage is measured every hour. For example, the SeCU usage from 10:00:00 to 10:59:59 is measured.
The SeCU usage is rounded up to the nearest integer. For example, if only 0.5 SeCU is used from 10:00:00 to 10:59:59, you are charged 1 SeCU for the time period.
SeCU resource plan
If you use a pay-as-you-go WAF 3.0 instance, you are charged based on your resource usage. Bills are generated at the end of each billing cycle. After you purchase SeCU resource plans, fees are preferentially deducted from the SeCU resource plans.
Take note of the following information about SeCU resource plans:
Before you can use a SeCU resource plan, you must pay for the resource plan.
Each SeCU resource plan has a validity period.
When a SeCU resource plan is exhausted or expires, fees are deducted from your Alibaba Cloud account to settle your bill.
You can use your Alibaba Cloud account to settle your bill only if the account has sufficient balance.
Deduction rules
The fees for the SeCUs that you consume are deducted from your SeCU resource plan. For example, you can use a SeCU resource plan whose specification is 2000 to offset the fees for 2,000 SeCUs.
You can purchase multiple SeCU resource plans. The SeCU resource plans are used based on the following rules:
If you purchase multiple SeCU resource plans, the SeCU resource plan that has the earliest expiration time is preferentially used. If the expiration time of the SeCU resource plans are the same, the resource plan that has the earliest purchase time is preferentially used.
If a SeCU resource plan is exhausted or expires and excess resources are used, you are charged for the excess resources on a pay-as-you-go basis and fees are deducted from your Alibaba Cloud account.
Validity period
A SeCU resource plan has a validity period of one month or one year.
Monthly SeCU resource plans: 10,000, 100,000, 500,000, 1 million, and 5 million
Annual SeCU resource plans: 2000, 100,000, 500,000, 1 million, 5 million, 10 million, and 50 million
You cannot use an expired SeCU resource plan to offset fees. You must purchase new SeCU resource plans.
Effective time and offset time
After you purchase a SeCU resource plan, the resource plan immediately takes effect. You can use the SeCU resource plan to offset fees that are generated on the current day.
Unsubscribe from a SeCU resource plan
Self-service unsubscription is not supported. If your SeCU resource plan meets the following conditions, submit a ticket on the New Ticket page to unsubscribe from the resource plan:
The SeCU resource plan was purchased in the previous five days.
The SeCU resource plan was not used.
Purchase a SeCU resource plan
Go to the WAF 3.0 SeCU Resource Plan buy page.
Configure the Resource Plan Specifications, Quantity, and Validity Period parameters.
NoteA SeCU resource plan that has a higher specification is more cost-effective.
Confirm the configurations, click Buy Now, and then complete the payment.
You cannot renew or upgrade SeCU resource plans. If the SeCU resource plan that you purchased cannot meet your business requirements, you can use the following methods to resolve the issue:
Purchase multiple SeCU resource plans. You can specify a custom value for the Quantity parameter to purchase multiple SeCU resource plans.
Purchase a SeCU resource plan that has a high specification.
View the usage details of a SeCU resource plan
Log on to the Expenses and Costs console.
In the left-side navigation pane, click Manage Reserved Instances.
On the Manage Reserved Instances page, set the Resource Type parameter to Resource Packages.
Click Set Remaining Quota Alert. In the Set Remaining Quota Alert dialog box, turn on Set Remaining Quota Alert Uniformly and configure the Remaining Quota Proportion parameter.
If the remaining quota of your SeCU resource plan is lower than the threshold, the system sends you notifications. On the Details tab, you can view the usage details of your SeCU resource plan.
