Simple Log Service:Purchase a resource plan

Last Updated:Feb 27, 2026

Resource plans let you prepay for Simple Log Service (SLS) capacity at a discounted rate compared to pay-as-you-go pricing. Each plan is measured in Cost Units (CUs) per month and billed on a subscription basis.

For help choosing the right plan size, see How do I select a quota for a resource plan?.

Buy a resource plan

  1. Go to the Simple Log Service Subscription page.

  2. Specify the quota, quantity, and subscription duration.

  3. Click Buy Now.

  4. Complete the payment as prompted.

Billing example

The following example compares pay-as-you-go costs with a 1-year subscription resource plan.

Scenario:

Note

If you set Shards to 2 when you create a Logstore, two shards are rented each day. The monthly fee of the two shards equals the fee of 60 shard days (2 shards x 30 days).

Total daily cost: USD 4.5 + USD 35 + USD 28.75 + USD 0.02 = USD 68.27

Pay-as-you-go vs. resource plan

Monthly fee based on the daily cost above:

(USD 4.5 + USD 35 + USD 28.75 + USD 0.02) x 30 days = USD 2,048.1

For this workload, purchase five 1-year subscription resource plans: two with 1,000 CUs per month and three with 20 CUs per month.
