This topic describes the procedure for using Global Accelerator (GA) and the basic scenarios of Global Accelerator to help you get started.
Global Accelerator To participate in a free trial, submit an application. Free trials are available only for subscription standard GA instances. For more information about instance specifications and other details, see Time-limited one-month free trials of GA.
Procedure
Use standard Global Accelerator instances
You can use standard Global Accelerator instances to accelerate content delivery at Layer 4 (TCP and UDP) and Layer 7 (HTTP and HTTPS). The following figure shows how to use standard GA instances.
Use basic Global Accelerator instances
You can use basic Global Accelerator instances to accelerate content delivery at Layer 3 (IP). The following figure shows how to use a basic GA instance.
This topic describes how to use Global Accelerator instances whose bandwidth metering method is pay-by-data-transfer. After you create a Global Accelerator instance whose bandwidth metering method is pay-by-bandwidth, you must associate a basic bandwidth plan with the GA instance, and then configure the acceleration area and the endpoint group.
Deploy GA
After you purchase a Global Accelerator instance, you can deploy Global Accelerator based on the following information:
On the Instances page, move the pointer over Pending Configuration below the ID of the Global Accelerator instance to view the configuration progress and the next step. In the Configure the GA instance tooltip, click the highlighted button of a step and complete the configuration of Global Accelerator.
After you associate a basic bandwidth plan with a standard Global Accelerator instance whose bandwidth metering method is pay-by-bandwidth, you can use the configuration wizard to configure the GA instance. The configuration wizard contains all parameters that you can configure for a standard Global Accelerator instance. The configuration wizard also provides a step-by-step guide on how to configure a Global Accelerator instance and simplifies the configuration process.
On the Instances page, find the Global Accelerator instance that you want to manage and click Configuration Wizard in the Actions column. On the GA Configuration Wizard page, complete the configuration.
