Why is the running time of backup SQL statements in the DBS console different from the time displayed in the ApsaraDB RDS console?

Updated at: 2025-02-17 10:02

Problem description

The running time of backup SQL statements in the Data Backup (DBS) console is different from the time displayed in the ApsaraDB RDS console.

Cause

To ensure the reliability of backup data, DBS uses the UTC+0 time zone when DBS executes a backup SQL statement during a logical backup. However, ApsaraDB RDS uses the UTC+8 time zone in SQL audit logs for the same backup SQL statement. As a result, the running time of the backup SQL statement displayed in the ApsaraDB RDS console is 8 hours different from the actual running time. The actual running time of the backup SQL statement is subject to the time displayed in the DBS console.
