Back up directories and files from your on-premises servers to Alibaba Cloud. Use this feature to protect against data loss from accidental deletion, server failures, or corruption. Restore files to the original server, a new path, an ECS instance, or another on-premises server.
Activating Cloud Backup is free. However, you are charged for the Cloud Backup client that you use to back up files and the storage usage of backup vaults. For more information, see Billing methods and billable items.
Install the backup client on your on-premises server. The client establishes communication between your server and Cloud Backup. After installation, the client status shows Activated on the Clients tab.
Create a backup plan by configuring the backup vault, source paths, backup cycle, and retention period. Cloud Backup starts the plan and continuously backs up files to Alibaba Cloud.
Restore files when needed. Restore files to the source path on the original server, a new path (create the path first), an ECS instance (install the client first), or another on-premises server (install the client first).
