This topic describes how to create a WhatsApp Business Account (WABA) and bind the WABA to a channel in the Chat App Message Service console, and also describes the features related to WhatsApp channels.
Prerequisites
Alibaba Cloud account registration and enterprise authentication.
A WhatsApp channel is created. For more information, see Create a WhatsApp channel.
Background information
To send WhatsApp messages, you need to register a WABA first. In Chat App Message Service, you can quickly register a WABA on the embedded Facebook signup page.
The company information you enter for applying for a WABA must be consistent with the company information you used for registering Chat App Message Service.
The phone number you use for applying for a WABA must be a number that has not been registered with WhatsApp and can receive verification codes normally.
Procedure
Log on to the Chat App Message Service console.
In the left-side navigation pane, click Channel management.
On the Channel management page, find the WhatsApp channel that you want to manage and click the channel ID or Management in the Operation column.
On the page that appears, click WABA onboarding in the left-side navigation pane.
On the WABA onboarding page, click Register.
Access the embedded Facebook signup page.

If you have not logged on to a Facebook account or the logon Facebook account is not the account required for registering a WABA, click Log in to Another Account to log on to the account as needed, or create a new Facebook account.
Click Get Started.

Follow the instructions on the page and fill in your business information, including the company name, email address of your company, official website of your company or business homepage, and the country or region where your company is located.
Fill in the real and complete business information. Otherwise, enterprise verification and the application for a WhatsApp Official Business Account (OBA) may be affected.

Click Continue.
View the permissions of Chat App Message Service.
To allow Alibaba Cloud Singapore to manage your WABA, you must grant Alibaba Cloud Singapore the access permissions and bill management permissions on your WABA.
Click Continue.
After Facebook verifies the information, click Finish.
If you are creating a new Meta business account or WABA, after completing the embedded registration, you need to wait for WhatsApp to approve the account before you can use it. After WhatsApp approves the account, your WABA is bound to the channel and the account status is displayed as APPROVED. Then, you can add, synchronize, and set numbers. For more information, see Manage phone numbers.
Enterprise verification
After the WABA is registered, go to Security Center of Meta Business Manager for enterprise verification. For more information about enterprise verification, see Start Verification.
Number migration
You can migrate phone numbers that are registered with other Business Solution Providers (BSPs) to Alibaba Cloud. After migration, the original display names, quality scores, message sending restrictions, official business account status, and all high-quality message templates that have been approved will be retained for the phone numbers. For more information about number migration, see Migrate phone numbers.
