This topic describes how to automatically call a local client to perform database O&M by using the single-sign on (SSO) authentication scheme.
Prerequisites
You are granted the permissions on database O&M.
For more information about how to import databases and grant permissions on the databases as an administrator, see Use the database management feature and Authorize users or user groups to manage assets and asset accounts.
A client that supports Bastionhost Assistant is installed on your local system. See Clients supported by Bastionhost Assistant.
Bastionhost Assistant is installed on the system where the local client resides. See Download and install Bastionhost Assistant.
Step 1: Configure an O&M device
Log on to the Bastionhost console and select the target region in the top navigation bar.
In the Bastionhost list, find the target instance and click Manage.
In the navigation pane on the left, choose .
On the Database O&M page, click Device Settings.
In the Device Settings panel, click the tab of the database that you want.
In the dialog box that appears, configure a session title for the O&M session (if using Windows), the local client, and the full path of the client (if using macOS).
Step 2: Perform database O&M
Bastionhost console (for RAM users)
Log on to the Bastionhost console and select the target region in the top navigation bar.
In the Bastionhost list, find the target instance and click Manage.
In the navigation pane on the left, choose .
On the Database O&M page, find the database you want.
In the Remote Connection column, click the drop-down arrow. In the dialog box that appears, select a database account, set the Logon Method parameter to Local Client Logon. Then click Log On.
O&M portal (for non-RAM users)
Log on to the O&M portal. For more information, see Log on to the O&M portal.
In the left navigation bar, click Database.
In the Remote Connection column, click the drop-down arrow. In the dialog box that appears, select a database account, and set the Logon Method parameter to Local Client Logon. Then click Log On.
