Your secure phone number is a core credential for Alibaba Cloud account identity verification. It is primarily used for secondary authentication, and receiving critical security notifications. This topic guides you through changing your secure phone number while you are logged in to your Alibaba Cloud account.
When to change your secure phone number
You should change your secure phone number as soon as possible in the following scenarios to maintain your access permissions and protect your assets.
Your original phone number is no longer usable because it is lost, its service is suspended, or the number has changed.
Change Account Owner
Your security policy requires periodic phone number updates.
Prerequisites
This topic applies only to changing the secure phone number of your Alibaba Cloud account while you are already logged in. Choose the appropriate solution based on whether your original secure phone number is still accessible:
Original secure phone is available: You can use an SMS verification code to complete the identity verification.
Original secure phone is unavailable: You can choose You can complete the verification by receiving a code sent to your login email address.

Procedure
Users logged in as Resource Access Management (RAM) users or RAM roles, or through enterprise SSO cannot change the secure phone number of the root account. Contact your account administrator to log in to the root account and perform this operation.
Log in to Alibaba Cloud and go to the Security Settings page in the Account Center. In the Basic Settings section, click Security mobile number, and then click Modify.
Alternatively, on the Overview page, in the My Account area, click the
icon next to Security phone number to modify it.
On the identity verification page, verify your identity using your original secure phone, login email, or TOTP. If both your original secure phone and login email are unavailable, see What do I do if my login email address is unavailable? and follow the appeal process to update your secure phone number.
After your identity is verified, enter your new phone number. Click Get Verification Code, enter the code you receive, and then click OK to complete the change.
NoteThe phone number must be from the country or region that you selected during account registration.
A single phone number can be bound to a maximum of six Alibaba Cloud accounts. If you exceed this limit, use a different phone number or unregister unused accounts. For instructions on how to unregister an account, see Unregister your Alibaba Cloud account.
The system displays the Modified successfully message.
