    Simple Log Service:Pay-by-ingested-data

    By default, Log Service uses the pay-as-you-go billing method. This billing method allows you to use resources before you pay for the resources. If you write data to Log Service in pay-by-ingested-data billing mode, the data is stored in Log Service free of charge within 30 days, and you are charged a log write fee. After 30 days, you are charged for the data storage. In addition, you are charged when you read data over the Internet.

    Billing rule

    If you use the pay-as-you-go billing method, you are charged based on the amount of resources that you use. In each settlement cycle, a bill is generated, and the fee is deducted from the balance of your Alibaba Cloud account.

    Scenarios

    The pay-by-ingested-data billing mode is suitable for the following scenarios:

    • Your resource usage frequently fluctuates.

    • Your business has short-term requirements on resources.

    • Your business requires the following features: long-term data storage, data query and analysis, data cleansing and standardization, visualization, monitoring and alerting, and data transfer.

    Limits

    The pay-by-ingested-data billing mode has the following limits. For more information, see Limits on a Logstore.

    • The pay-by-ingested-data billing mode takes effect at the Logstore level.

    • The pay-by-ingested-data billing mode is not supported for Metricstores or Query Logstores.

    • You cannot switch from the pay-by-feature billing mode to the pay-by-ingested-data billing mode.

    Billing cycle

    The billing cycle of Log Service is one day. A bill is generated every day at 00:00 based on the amount of resources that you used on the previous day. Fees are deducted from the balance of your Alibaba Cloud account on a daily basis.

    Note

    If the sum of the balance and vouchers in your Alibaba Cloud account is less than the payable amount, the system sends you a notification by text message or email.
