Quick BI:Add a User-created SAP HANA Data Source

Last Updated:Jan 20, 2025

This topic explains how to add a user-created SAP HANA data source. It is supported only by the Professional Edition and Pro.

Prerequisites

  • Ensure your network connectivity:

    • If connecting Quick BI to your SAP HANA database over the Internet, add the IP address of Quick BI to the database whitelist. For more information, see Add Security Group Rules.

    • If connecting Quick BI to your SAP HANA database over an internal network, ensure connectivity between the data source and Quick BI using one of the following methods:

      • If the SAP HANA database is deployed on an Alibaba Cloud ECS instance, establish a connection over an Alibaba Cloud VPC.

      • Alternatively, deploy a jump server and access the database via an SSH tunnel.

  • A user-created SAP HANA database is in place.

  • The username and password for accessing the user-created SAP HANA database are available.

Limits

Supports version 2.0.

Ensure that the AccessKey ID has Read permission on the destination instance. If it also has Write permission, the system automatically adds the whitelist. Otherwise, you need to add it manually. For more information, see Create a Custom Policy.

    • Purchaser Accesskey: The AccessKey Secret of the purchaser of this instance.

For more information, see Obtain an AccessKey.

    • Instance ID: The ID of the purchaser of this instance. Log on to the ECS console and obtain the instance ID on the Instances tab.

For more information, see View Instance Information.
