As of April 27, 2023, some extensions can be created only in specified minor versions of PolarDB for PostgreSQL (Compatible with Oracle). For more information, see Affected extensions. Those extensions that you have created are not affected.

Background information

To strengthen extension management and protect extension security in PolarDB for PostgreSQL (Compatible with Oracle), some extensions cannot be created if the minor versions of your clusters are earlier than the specified versions. To create such extensions, you must upgrade your clusters to the specified versions or later.

Impacts

  • If you have created extensions that are listed in the preceding table and they still exist, the extensions are not affected.

  • If you have not created extensions that are listed in the preceding table or have deleted such extensions, and if the minor versions of your clusters are earlier than the specified versions, you cannot create those extensions. To create such extensions, you must upgrade your clusters to the specified versions or later.
