This topic describes the pricing and metering methods of Optimization Solver.
Billable items
Billable items of Mathematical Programming Solver:
Concurrency: specifies the number of solving tasks that are allowed to run concurrently. At the end of a solving task, please pay attention to release the concurrency.
Duration: specifies the validity period of the service. The metering method varies based on the service type. The service can be billed on a daily or hourly basis.

Pay-as-you-go
The pay-as-you-go billing method is supported for the web-based low-concurrency and high-concurrency editions.
After your service instance is activated, you are always billed for the number of concurrency that you purchased in the low-concurrency edition or billed for the default eight concurrency of the high-concurrency edition within the validity period of the instance.
Suspension and resumption
The system automatically deducts fees for the service that uses the pay-as-you-go billing method after bills are generated.
Suspension: If your Alibaba Cloud account fails to be deducted due to overdue payments, the system suspends the service and sends you a suspension notification. In addition, the system notifies you of the suspension twice, once 12 hours and again 23 hours after your account is overdue. Make sure that your Alibaba Cloud account has sufficient balance to prevent service unavailability.
Resumption: The service is resumed immediately after you settle the overdue payments.
Refunds
Refund operations
If you have purchased the Unlimited concurrency on single machine, you can click Refund on the Available Service List page of the Optimization Solver console to refund the service before the license is generated.
If you have purchased the service of the Low concurrency edition, you can refund the service on the Unsubscribe page of the Alibaba Cloud Management console. To access the Unsubscribe page, log on to the Alibaba Cloud Management console, choose Expenses > User Center in the top navigation bar, and then choose Order Management > Refund in the left-side navigation pane.
Situations where refunds are not supported
Refunds are not supported if the service has been put into use. Examples:
Fees that were generated for the time elapsed cannot be returned for the web-based service (low and high concurrency version) that uses the subscription or pay-as-you-go billing method.
The Unlimited concurrency on single machine version cannot be refunded after the license is generated.
If you have any questions about refunds, feel free to contact us.
Service changes
Update the software package.
You need to choose a software version based on your business requirements and download and install the software in your environment. New software versions will be updated from time to time. For information about new software versions, see Download and install the latest Optimization Solver SDK. For information about all software versions, see History versions of Solver SDK. You can stay tuned for information about version updates and update the software as required. The authentication service is automatically updated after you install a new version of the software.
Change the machine ID for the Unlimited concurrency on single machine.
Theoretically, service changes and refunds are not supported after a license is generated for the standalone solver.
In case of special circumstances, you can ask your technical director to contact us by sending an email that clearly describes the reason for the change and change requirements. Alibaba Cloud will then review the change requirements and contact you to do the change.
