You can change the billing method of an ApsaraDB for MongoDB instance from subscription to pay-as-you-go.
Prerequisites
Your instance uses the subscription billing method.
The instance is in the Running state.
NoteIf a subscription instance is locked due to expiration, you must first renew the instance. For more information, see Subscription renewal.
The instance type is available for purchase. For more information about unavailable instance types, see Unavailable instance types.
NoteIf you want to change the billing method of an instance with a phased-out instance type from subscription to pay-as-you-go, change the instance type first. For more information, see Change the configurations of an instance.
The instance must run MongoDB 4.0 or later.
NoteIf you want to switch the billing method of an instance that runs MongoDB 4.0 or earlier to pay-as-you-go, upgrade the database engine version first. For more information, see Upgrade the major version of an instance and Update the minor version of an instance.
Pricing
After you change the billing method of your instance to pay-as-you-go, a refund is returned based on the original payment method.
Impacts
When you switch your instance to the pay-as-you-go billing method, the workloads on your instance run as normal.
If you want to use the instance for a long period of time, we recommend that you use the subscription billing method because the subscription billing method is more cost-effective than the pay-as-you-go billing method and you are offered more discounts for longer subscription durations.
Procedure
Log on to the ApsaraDB for MongoDB console.
In the left-side navigation pane, click Replica Set Instances or Sharded Cluster Instances based on the instance type.
In the upper-left corner of the page, select the resource group and region to which the instance belongs.
Click More in the Actions column of the target instance and select Switch to Pay-as-you-go.
Confirm the configuration of your instance, read and select Terms of Service, click Pay Now, and then complete the payment.
