Billing methods
Lindorm supports the subscription and pay-as-you-go billing methods.

| Subscription | The subscription billing method is a pre-payment plan in which you pay subscription fees when you purchase an instance. For long-term usage, the subscription billing method is more cost-effective than the pay-as-you-go billing method. You are charged lower prices for longer subscription durations. You can switch the billing method of an instance from subscription to pay-as-you-go. For more information, see Switch the billing method from subscription to pay-as-you-go. |
| Pay-as-you-go | A pay-as-you-go instance is an instance for which you are charged per hour based on your resource usage. The hourly fees are calculated based on the instance type that you specify in the purchase order and are deducted from the balance of your Alibaba Cloud account. This billing method is cost-effective for business scenarios that require access to resources for short periods of time, such as testing. You can release an instance as needed to save costs. After the resource usage of your instances becomes stable, you can change the billing method of the instances from pay-as-you-go to subscription to save costs.
