IPv6 Gateway:Metric monitoring

Last Updated:May 08, 2024

The metric monitoring feature ensures the availability of your IPv6 gateways and the normal operation and health of your business. You can use the corresponding monitoring features to continuously collect monitoring data. Alibaba Cloud provides various monitoring and auditing services such as CloudMonitor and Cloud Config. These services help you monitor the usage of cloud resources and business operation status in real time. This way, you can make quick responses after you receive alerts.

Monitor the health status of Alibaba Cloud services

We recommend that you keep track of the health status of your Alibaba Cloud resources so that you can handle exceptions at the earliest opportunity. For more information, visit Alibaba Cloud status.

On the Alibaba Cloud Resource Healthiness Updates page, you can check the health status of every service in each region, and find the methods to subscribe to Really Simple Syndication (RSS) feeds about service exceptions.

CloudMonitor Basic

IPv6 Gateway is integrated with Alibaba Cloud CloudMonitor Basic. You can use CloudMonitor Basic for free to monitor the metrics of cloud resources and Internet applications in real time.

Enable alerting for critical metrics with a few clicks

CloudMonitor Basic allows you to enable alerting for multiple critical metrics of IPv6 Gateway with a few clicks and helps you efficiently establish an alerting system. This way, you can learn about the overall resource usage and business operation status. For more information, see Enable the initiative alert feature.

Configure custom alert rules for metrics

You can configure the following alert content for metrics in the CloudMonitor console:

  • Create a custom dashboard and add monitoring charts for specific metrics to the dashboard to quickly collect corresponding metric data. For more information, see Manage the monitoring charts of a custom dashboard.

  • Configure an alert rule for specific metrics to receive notifications by phone call, text message, email, DingTalk chatbot, or the Alibaba Cloud app.

  • Configure an alert blacklist to block alert notifications for a specific metric. For more information, see Manage blacklist policies.

Cloud Config

IPv6 Gateway is integrated with Cloud Config. You can use Cloud Config for free to track configuration changes of cloud resources in a centralized manner and evaluate configuration compliance. This helps you monitor the compliance of cloud resources and maintain the continuous compliance of your cloud infrastructure.

Audit and record resource configuration changes

Cloud Config can audit the operations performed by your Alibaba Cloud account and all RAM users created by your Alibaba Cloud account. By default, configuration changes are recorded every 10 minutes.

Enable the compliance pre-check for CCSP 2.0

Cloud Config provides rules based on the specifications in Baseline for Classified Protection of Cybersecurity 2.0 (CCSP 2.0) and uses the rules to evaluate the compliance of resources. You can enable the compliance pre-check for CCSP 2.0 with a few clicks. The feature then continuously evaluates resource compliance. You can also download the compliance pre-check result and submit it to an inspection agency.

ActionTrail

IPv6 Gateway is integrated with Alibaba Cloud ActionTrail. ActionTrail allows you to manage operation logs of cloud resources in a centralized manner. ActionTrail records the user logon and resource access operations within your Alibaba Cloud account for security analysis, intrusion detection, resource change tracking, and compliance auditing.

ActionTrail can generate logs for cloud service access and usage by using the Alibaba Cloud Management Console, API operations, and developer tools. For more information about the audit events, see Audit events of VPC.

By default, ActionTrail tracks and retains the events of the previous 90 days. If you need to retain events for a longer period of time, create a trail to deliver events to Object Storage Service (OSS). For more information, see the Step 1: Create a trail section of the Use the advanced event query feature to query events topic.

After you create a trail to deliver events to a specified OSS bucket, you can query or analyze the events in the OSS console. For more information, see Query events in the Simple Log Service or OSS console.

If you need to trace a historical event, submit a ticket to request the required permissions.
