Energy Expert:Dictionary management

Last Updated:Jul 05, 2024

This topic describes how to configure the dictionary of Energy Expert and use the entries of the dictionary for a product carbon footprint model.

The dictionary management feature allows you to configure entries and impact factors for entries. If you use an inventory item multiple times when you create a product carbon footprint model, you can add this inventory item as an entry to the dictionary and configure impact factors for the entry. You can enter a keyword of the inventory item name to search for the entry.

Only users who have the permissions on the root organization can add, delete, and modify entries in the root organization. The users of all sub-organizations and sites can view and use entries. Log on to the Energy Expert console and choose Carbon > Dictionary Management in the left-side navigation pane.

Manage entries

After you obtain the permissions on the root organization and access the root organization, you can add, import, view, modify, and remove entries on the Dictionary Management page. When you import multiple entries at a time, you must use the data import template downloaded from Energy Expert. If you have only the permissions on a sub-organization or site, you can only view entries.

For each entry, the Chinese parameter is required, and the English, Description of Entry, and Related Impact Factor parameters are optional.

Use an entry

When you configure an inventory item for a product carbon footprint model, enter a keyword in the Name field. The drop-down list of the field displays all entries that contain the keyword. After you select the entry that you want to use, the entry name and related impact factors are automatically synchronized to the inventory item. For more information, see Configure the basic information of lifecycle inventory.
