This topic describes the billing methods, pricing, settlement cycle, and billing cycle of ID Verification - KYC. KYC is short for Know Your Customer.
Billing methods
ID Verification - KYC supports the following billing methods. You can select a billing method based on your business requirements.
Pay-as-you-go (by day)
If you select the pay-as-you-go billing method, you must take note of the unit price and billable item of the solution and integration method that you want to use. Fees are generated based on standard unit prices. For more information, see Pricing.
Subscription (data transfer plan)
If you select the subscription billing method, you must purchase a data transfer plan on the Data Transfer Plan for ID Verification page based on the solution and integration method that you want to use. For more information, see Pricing.
The price of a data transfer plan varies based on the type and specifications of the plan. If the number of successful verifications or calls does not exceed the limit of the data transfer plan that you purchase, you are not charged additional fees. If the limit is exceeded, you are charged for the excess part based on the pay-as-you-go billing method. For more information, see Purchase a data transfer plan.

Successful queries: If you use an element-based verification solution, you can receive a response packet that includes BizCode=1, BizCode=2, or BizCode=3. BizCode=1 indicates that the query is successful and the elements specified in the request are consistent. BizCode=2 indicates that the query is successful and the elements specified in the request are inconsistent. If the specified elements are not found, BizCode=3 is returned. If BizCode=1 or BizCode=2 is returned, you are charged for a successful query. If BizCode=3 is returned, you are not charged.
If you exit verification without completing all steps required in the verification solution, your operation is not counted as a successful call.
We recommend that you save the returned TransactionId field to your on-premises computer after you call the Initialize operation of ID Verification - KYC. You can use the field to check detailed bills. For more information about how to call an operation of ID Verification - KYC, see Developer Guide.
Settlement cycle
ID Verification - KYC supports a settlement cycle of one day and follows the billing by day and settlement by day rule.
ID Verification - KYC generates a bill on each calendar day based on your resource usage on the previous calendar day, and deducts the fee from your Alibaba Cloud account balance based on the billed amount. If you purchase a data transfer plan, ID Verification - KYC preferentially uses the plan to offset the fee. If the plan cannot cover the fee, ID Verification - KYC deducts the remaining fee from your account balance.
Billing cycle
Bills are generated on a daily basis. ID Verification - KYC generates a bill on each calendar day based on your resource usage on the previous calendar day. In most cases, a bill is generated within 10 to 12 hours after the end of each calendar day. If your account does not have sufficient balance to settle the bill, the bill becomes overdue, and ID Verification - KYC is suspended.
You can log on to the Billing Management console to view previous bills.
Bills are not generated in real time. The system may include the consumption amount on the last calendar day of a month in the bill of the next month. You can view the monthly bills of ID Verification - KYC on the Overview of Monthly Bill page of the Billing Management console. For example, in the monthly bill for January 2023, the statistics may be collected from December 31, 2022 to January 30, 2023.
Overdue payments
If your account has overdue payments, ID Verification - KYC is suspended. You must add funds to your account to continue using the service.
