This topic describes the billing structure and methods of Alibaba Cloud Edge Security Acceleration (ESA).
Billing structure
The billing structure of ESA consists of subscription plans (required) and value-added services (optional).
Subscription: a monthly upfront payment is required before you can use a plan.
Pay-as-you-go: no upfront payment is required. The system regularly generates fees based on your actual resource usage.
Plan fees
When you add a website to ESA, you must select a subscription plan based on your business requirements. For more information, see Plan fees.
Fees for traffic that exceeds quota
The traffic quota in a plan is used to offset fees on a monthly basis. When you use a plan, the following rules take effect:
If the traffic quota in your plan is not exhausted within a month, the remaining traffic is not carried over to the next month.
By default, if the traffic quota in your plan is exhausted before a month ends, you can continue to use ESA. You are charged for traffic that exceeds the traffic quota in the plan on an hourly basis. For more information, see Billing rules for traffic that exceeds quota.
Value-added service fees
You are charged for value-added services only after you activate the services. Value-added services are billed on a pay-as-you-go basis. You can activate value-added services based on your business requirements. The following table describes the value-added services supported by ESA.
Service | Description |
You can use this service to route traffic across the most efficient network path to accelerate edge services from end to end. The service is on a trial run and is free of charge between October 9, 2024 and December 1, 2024. | |
