Purchase a DTS instance

Prerequisites

• An Alibaba Cloud account is created. For more information, see Sign up with Alibaba Cloud.

• Your account has sufficient balance if you want to purchase a pay-as-you-go instance.

Purchase a data verification instance

1. Go to the buy page in one of the following two ways:

   • Visit the DTS buy page.

   • In the upper part of the Verification Task page, click Purchase Instance.

2. Configure the parameters for the data verification instance. The following table describes the parameters.

   Important

   • You can select only the pay-as-you-go billing method when you purchase a data verification instance.

   • The incremental data verification feature cannot be purchased separately.

   	Region of source Instance	The region in which the source database resides. You cannot change the value of this parameter after you purchase the data verification instance. Proceed with caution.
   	Destination Instance	The type of the destination database for data verification.
   	Destination Region	The region in which the destination database resides. You cannot change the value of this parameter after you purchase the data verification instance. Proceed with caution.
   	Resource Group	The resource group to which the data verification instance belongs. For more information, see What is Resource Management?
   Quantity	Quantity	The number of data verification instances that you want to purchase at a time. Default value: 1. Maximum value: 99.

3. Click Buy Now and follow the instructions to complete the payment.

Then, you can configure a data verification task. For more information, see the Configure a data verification task from the Data Verification page section of the Configure a data verification task topic.

Purchase a serverless instance

1. Go to the buy page in one of the following two ways:

   • Visit the DTS buy page.

   • In the upper part of the Data Synchronization Tasks page, click Purchase Instance.

2. Configure the parameters for the serverless instance. The following table describes the parameters.

   Note

   • You can purchase only a pay-as-you-go serverless instance for data synchronization.

   • By default, if you purchase a serverless instance before you configure a serverless task, the minimum number of DTS units (DUs) is 1 and the maximum number of DUs is 16 for the instance.

   	Region of source Instance	The region in which the source database resides. You cannot change the value of this parameter after you purchase the serverless instance. Proceed with caution.
   	Destination Instance	The type of the destination database for the serverless instance.
   	Destination Region	The region in which the destination database resides. By default, the destination database resides in the same region as the source database. You cannot change the value of this parameter.
   	Synchronization Topology	The synchronization topology. This parameter is set to One-Way Synchronization.
   	Resource Group	The resource group to which the serverless instance belongs. For more information, see What is Resource Management?
   Quantity	Quantity	The number of serverless instances that you want to purchase at a time. Default value: 1. Maximum value: 99.

3. Click Buy Now and follow the instructions to complete the payment.

Then, you can configure a serverless task. The procedure of configuring a serverless task is similar to the procedure of configuring a data synchronization task. For more information, see Configure a data synchronization task by using the new DTS console.

Purchase a data migration instance

1. Go to the buy page in one of the following two ways:

   • Visit the DTS buy page.

   • In the upper part of the Data Migration page, click Purchase Instance.

2. Configure the parameters for the data migration instance. The following table describes the parameters.

   Note

   You can select only the pay-as-you-go billing method when you purchase a data migration instance.

   	Specification	DTS provides different instance classes. The migration speed of an instance varies based on the instance class. You can select an instance class based on your business needs. For more information, see Instance classes of data migration instances.
   	Resource Group	The resource group to which the data migration instance belongs. For more information, see What is Resource Management?
   Quantity	Quantity	The number of data migration instances that you want to purchase at a time. Default value: 1. Maximum value: 99.

3. Click Buy Now and follow the instructions to complete the payment.

Then, you can configure a data migration task. For more information, see Configure a data migration task by using the new DTS console.

Purchase a data synchronization instance

1. Go to the buy page in one of the following two ways:

   • Visit the DTS buy page.

   • In the upper part of the Data Synchronization Tasks page, click Purchase Instance.

2. Configure the parameters for the data synchronization instance. The following table describes the parameters.

   Basic settings	Billing Method	Subscription: You pay for your subscription when you create an instance. The subscription billing method is more cost-effective than the pay-as-you-go billing method for long-term use. You are offered lower prices for longer subscription durations. Pay-as-you-go: A pay-as-you-go instance is billed on an hourly basis. We recommend that you select the pay-as-you-go billing method for short-term use. If you no longer require a pay-as-you-go instance, you can release the instance to reduce costs.
   	Cluster Type of DTS Instance	The type of the cluster on which you want to run the data synchronization instance. Select Public Cluster. Note This parameter is available only if the Billing Method parameter is set to Subscription.
   	Function	The function of the data synchronization instance. Select Data Synchronization.
   	Incremental Data Verification	Specifies whether to enable incremental data verification for the data synchronization instance.
   	Source Instance	The type of the source database for data synchronization.
   	Region of source Instance	The region in which the source database resides. You cannot change the value of this parameter after you purchase the data synchronization instance. Proceed with caution.
   	Destination Instance	The type of the destination database for data synchronization.
   	Destination Region	The region in which the destination database resides. You cannot change the value of this parameter after you purchase the data synchronization instance. Proceed with caution.
   	Synchronization Topology	The synchronization topology. Valid values: One-way Synchronization and Two-way Synchronization. Note For more information about synchronization topologies, see Synchronization topologies. For information about how to configure Source Instance and Destination Instance if you want to set the Synchronization Topology parameter to Two-way Synchronization, see Instances that support two-way synchronization.
   	Specification	DTS provides different instance classes. The number of data records that can be synchronized by an instance varies based on the instance class. For more information, see Instance classes of data synchronization instances. Note The instance class you select determines the data synchronization speed. In the production environment, we recommend that you select small or a higher instance class.
   	Resource Group	The resource group to which the data synchronization instance belongs. For more information, see What is Resource Management?
   Quantity	Order Time	If you select the subscription billing method, set the subscription duration and the number of instances that you want to purchase. The subscription duration can be one to nine months or one to three years. Note This parameter is available only if the Billing Method parameter is set to Subscription. You can choose whether to select Auto-renewal based on your business requirements.
   	Quantity	The number of data synchronization instances that you want to purchase at a time. Default value: 1. Maximum value: 99. Note This parameter is available only if the Billing Method parameter is set to Pay-as-you-go.
   	Quantity	The number of data synchronization instances that you want to purchase at a time. Default value: 1. Maximum value: 99. Note This parameter is available only if the Billing Method parameter is set to Subscription.

3. Click Buy Now and follow the instructions to complete the payment.

Then, you can configure a data synchronization task. For more information, see Configure a data synchronization task by using the new DTS console.

Purchase a change tracking instance

1. Go to the buy page in one of the following two ways:

   • Visit the DTS buy page.

   • In the upper part of the Change Tracking page, click Purchase Instance.

2. Configure the parameters for the change tracking instance. The following table describes the parameters.
