IPv6 | New | An Enterprise Edition transit router instance forwards IPv6 traffic and learns and advertises IPv6 routes by default. To enable IPv6 network communication between VPC instances or between cloud and on-premises environments, you can associate VPC, ECR, and virtual border router (VBR) instances to the transit router. After the connections are established, the local networks associated with VPC, ECR, and VBR instances support IPv6 communication regardless of region. | 2024-09-10 |

Route synchronization | New | Route synchronization is supported by Enterprise Edition transit routers. You can enable Enterprise Edition transit routers to automatically advertise routes to network instances. | 2023-03-30
Aggregate routes | New | Aggregate routes are supported by Enterprise Edition transit routers. You can converge routes that have the same next hop (same or similar destination) into an aggregate route. If route synchronization is enabled for a VPC, the aggregate route, instead of the specific routes, is automatically advertised to the VPC. You can use aggregate routes to reduce the number of routes and improve route synchronization efficiency. | 2023-03-30

Reachability analyzer | New | CEN is integrated with Network Intelligence Service (NIS), which supports the reachability analyzer. You can use the reachability analyzer to test the connectivity between resources. | 2023-03-22
Monitoring on transit routers | New | CEN is integrated with CloudMonitor, which can monitor transit routers. You can create threshold-triggered alert rules to be notified of anomalies in data transmission over transit routers. | 2023-03-17
Multi-region equal-cost multi-path (ECMP) routing for VBRs | New | Multi-region ECMP routing is supported. After an Enterprise Edition transit router learns routes that have the same destination CIDR block from multiple VBRs, the routes are sorted by region ID by default if the other attributes of the routes are the same. The route with the first region ID in alphabetical order is selected as the primary route to forward traffic. If multi-region ECMP routing is enabled for VBRs, routes that have the same attributes other than region IDs are considered equal-cost routes. | 2023-03-15 |

Transit router CIDR blocks | New | Custom CIDR blocks for transit routers are supported. The CIDR block of a transit router is similar to the CIDR block of the loopback interface of a router. IP addresses within the CIDR blocks can be allocated to IPsec-VPN connections and Connect peers. | 2022-11-22 |
August 2022
Feature | Type | Description | Release date | References |
IPsec-VPN connections | New | Enterprise Edition transit routers can be connected to IPsec-VPN connections. You can create an IPsec-VPN connection to connect a data center to a transit router, which allows the data center to communicate with other networks. | 2022-08-05
Prefix lists | New | The route tables of Enterprise Edition transit routers can be associated with prefix lists. After the route table of an Enterprise Edition transit router is associated with the prefix list of a virtual private cloud (VPC), the system automatically adds the routes that point to the CIDR blocks in the prefix list to the route table of the transit router. | 2022-08-04 |
