Data Management (DMS) integrates specific features of Database Autonomy Service (DAS) to help you obtain up-to-date information about the performance of a database instance and optimize the database instance in a quick, accurate, and effective manner.
Prerequisites
- If the database instance is managed in Flexible Management or Stable Change mode, make sure that you have the permission to log on to the database instance. After the logon, you can view the performance details of the database instance.
- If the database instance is managed in Security Collaboration mode, make sure that you have the permission to manage the performance of the database instance. Then, you can view the performance details of the database instance.
Background information
Features
Feature | Description |
---|---|
One-click diagnostics | You can use this feature to identify performance issues in your database instances. For more information, see Diagnostics. |
Real-time performance monitoring | You can use this feature to view the performance metrics of each database instance that is connected to DAS in real time. For more information, see Real-time monitoring. |
Instance session management | You can use this feature to view the information about the sessions between a database instance and a client in real time. The information includes the client information, the commands that are run, and the connection duration. You can also terminate abnormal sessions based on business requirements. For more information, see Session management. |
Storage analysis | You can use this feature to view the storage usage of a database instance and the number of days for which the remaining storage of the database instance is available. This feature also provides the storage information about each table in a database, such as the storage usage, information about tablespace fragments, and diagnostic reports on storage exceptions. For more information, see Storage analysis. |
Note For more information about the description of the database performance, see Database engines and features supported by DAS.
