If you no longer need to use a database instance, you can manually remove the instance from the Data Management (DMS) console.
Prerequisites
You are a database administrator (DBA) or a DMS administrator.
Usage notes
After a database instance is removed from the instance list, you can no longer perform operations on the databases of the database instance in the DMS console.
After a database instance is removed, your permissions on the database instance become invalid and are automatically revoked.
After a database instance is removed, the database instance is disconnected from the DMS console. This does not affect the instance itself.
Procedure
- Log on to the DMS console V5.0.
In the left-side instance list, find the instance that you want to remove and right-click the instance name.
Then, select Delete Instance. In the message that appears, click OK.
NoteTo remove multiple instances at a time, choose
in the top navigation bar. On the Instance List tab of the Instances page, select the instances that you want to remove, move the pointer over in the upper part of the instance list and then select Delete Instance. In the message that appears, click OK.

After a database instance in Stable Change or Security Collaboration mode is removed, the database instance is still charged. To unsubscribe from the control mode, you need to go to the DMS Order Management page to manually complete the unsubscription.

Q: Am I able to restore a removed database instance?
A: Yes. You can restore a removed database instance by performing the following operations: On the Instance List tab of the Instances page, find the instance that you want to enable and choose
in the Actions column.Q: After I remove a database instance, is the instance itself affected?
A: No. After a database instance is removed, it is disconnected from the DMS console. The database instance itself is not deleted or released. If you no longer need to use the database instance, go to the corresponding console to delete and release the database instance.
