Database Backup:Release or unsubscribe from a backup schedule

Last Updated:Jun 19, 2024

This topic describes how to release a pay-as-you-go backup schedule and unsubscribe from a subscription backup schedule in Database Backup (DBS).

Usage notes

  • You need to pay a subscription fee based on the subscription duration when you purchase a subscription backup schedule. If you no longer need to use a subscription backup schedule, you can unsubscribe from the backup schedule. You cannot release a subscription backup schedule.

  • You are charged for a pay-as-you-go backup schedule based on actual resource usage. No refunds are involved. If you no longer need to use a pay-as-you-go backup schedule, you can release the backup schedule after you back up or migrate data. Before you release the backup schedule, make sure that the release does not affect your business. After the backup schedule is released, you are no longer charged for the backup schedule.

Important
  • We recommend that you read the usage notes and rules before you release or unsubscribe from a backup schedule. For more information, see Refund policy.

  • After you release or unsubscribe from a backup schedule, the operation is irreversible. Exercise caution when you release or unsubscribe from a backup schedule.

Release a pay-as-you-go backup schedule

  1. Log on to the DBS console. In the left-side navigation pane, click Backup Schedules to go to the Backup Schedules page.

  2. Find the backup schedule that you want to release and choose More > Release in the Actions column.

  3. In the message that appears, click OK.

    Note

After you release a backup schedule for an ApsaraDB RDS instance, the default backup policy of the ApsaraDB RDS instance remains valid.

Subscription backup schedules

You cannot apply for refunds for subscription backup schedules.

What to do next

  • After you release or unsubscribe from a backup schedule, the backup schedule is no longer displayed on the Backup Schedules page. If you want to use a backup schedule to back up the related database instance again, you can manually add the database instance as a data source. For more information, see Add a data source.

  • You can also release a pay-as-you-go backup schedule by calling an API operation. For more information, see ReleaseBackupPlan.

  • If you do not use a backup schedule, you can pause the backup schedule to save costs. For more information, see Pause or start a backup schedule or StopBackupPlan.
