You can manually renew or enable auto-renewal for backup schedules to extend the validity periods of subscription DBS backup schedules. Pay-as-you-go backup schedules never expire. You need to only make sure that your Alibaba Cloud account has a sufficient balance.
Impacts
A subscription backup schedule has a validity period. If you do not renew a subscription backup schedule before the end of the validity period, your backup services may be interrupted. For more information, see Expiration and overdue payments.
We recommend that you enable auto-renewal for your backup schedules or manually renew your backup schedules before the expiration date.
Billing
The fee required to renew a backup schedule is the same as that required to purchase a backup schedule. The specific fee displayed in the console prevails. For more information, see Backup fees.
Auto-renewal
If you enable auto-renewal for a backup schedule, you do not need to manually renew the backup schedule on a regular basis. This ensures service continuity even if you do not renew the backup schedule on time.
Enable auto-renewal when you purchase a backup schedule
When you purchase a subscription backup schedule, select Auto-renewal.
By default, the duration of an auto-renewed monthly subscription to a backup schedule is one month, and the duration of an auto-renewed yearly subscription to a backup schedule is one year. For example, if you select auto-renewal when you purchase a backup schedule with a six-month subscription, the system automatically renews the backup schedule with a one-month subscription each time the backup schedule is due to expire.
When auto-renewal is enabled, your payment will be collected nine days before the expiration date of a backup schedule. Make sure that your Alibaba Cloud account has a sufficient balance. If your backup schedule is about to expire within 24 hours, you must manually renew the subscription.
If you have manually renewed a backup schedule before it is automatically renewed, the system will renew the backup schedule based on the updated expiration date.
