Effective date
Starting at 08:00:00 on January 12, 2024, the renamed and new versions of Database Autonomy Service (DAS) are used in phases.
Effective scope
DAS Cost-efficient Edition
DAS Cost-efficient Edition provides lightweight autonomy services. The database instances for which DAS Cost-efficient Edition is activated are charged based on the subscription billing method. In addition to the features provided by DAS Basic Edition, DAS Cost-efficient Edition provides features such as automatic tablespace fragment recycling and performance insight. Features such as session management and lock analysis are updated. More features for which you are charged will be released in the future.

DAS Enterprise Edition
DAS Professional Edition is renamed DAS Enterprise Edition. DAS Enterprise Edition has the following versions:
DAS Enterprise Edition V0: renamed from DAS Professional Edition of the previous version that uses the old engine
DAS Enterprise Edition V1: renamed from DAS Professional Edition of the previous version
DAS Enterprise Edition V2: renamed from DAS Professional Edition of the new version
DAS Enterprise Edition V3: new version
Each version supports the same features but has different billable items. DAS Enterprise Edition V3 is billed on a pay-as-you-go basis and supports hybrid storage of hot and cold data. The billable items are subdivided based on features. This allows flexible billing and reduces costs.
You can migrate data from DAS Enterprise Edition V1 or DAS Enterprise Edition V2 to DAS Enterprise Edition V3 free of charge. Before the migration is complete, you are charged for the source version. After the migration is complete, you are charged for the destination version. For more information, see the How do I migrate data between different versions of DAS Enterprise Edition? section of the "FAQ" topic.
On the Edition Management page of the DAS console, you can view the version of DAS Enterprise Edition that is activated for your database instance.

Impacts
You can use the automatic tablespace fragment recycling feature without the need to activate DAS Enterprise Edition. This feature can be used after DAS Cost-efficient Edition is activated.
You can activate DAS Cost-efficient Edition or DAS Enterprise Edition to use the performance insight feature after the public preview ends.
ImportantThe public preview period of the performance insight feature ended on February 29, 2024. If you want to retain the data that is generated for the performance insight feature, you must activate DAS Cost-efficient Edition or DAS Enterprise Edition before the public preview ends. Otherwise, the performance insight feature is disabled and historical data is deleted after the public preview ends.
You can upgrade DAS Enterprise Edition V1 or DAS Enterprise Edition V2 to DAS Enterprise Edition V3 for database instances in the regions that support DAS Enterprise Edition V3. Take note of the following items if you upgrade your DAS edition to DAS Enterprise Edition V3:
You are not charged storage fees for the data that is stored before the upgrade. If you perform operations such as querying, analyzing, or exporting the data, you are charged based on the billable items of DAS Enterprise Edition V3.
New data is billed based on billable items such as data ingestion, hot data storage, and cold data storage.
NoteDAS Enterprise Edition V3 uses new billing rules, which subdivide the billable items based on features. This allows flexible billing and reduces costs.
