Cancel a gateway or cache disk subscription

Overview

You can cancel a gateway subscription in Cloud Storage Gateway (CSG) and get a partial refund.

Refund rules and limitations

Before you cancel your subscription, make sure to read and understand the refund rules and limitations. For more information, see Rules for unsubscribing from resources.

Refund policies

If a pay-as-you-go gateway is deleted, the gateway stops incurring fees. For more information about how to delete a gateway, see Delete a file gateway and Delete an iSCSI gateway.
Note
You cannot request a refund on a pay-as-you-go gateway.
If a gateway subscription has not expired, you can cancel the subscription and get a refund on the subscription by using the steps described in the following sections.

Important

Gateway subscription cancellation
- Before you cancel a gateway subscription, make sure that you have synchronized all data from the gateway to the buckets. After the data synchronization is complete, we recommend that you unmount all shares of the gateway from the clients and delete the shares before you cancel the gateway subscription.
- Before you cancel a gateway subscription, cancel all the cache disk subscriptions related to the gateway.
Cache disk subscription cancellation
Before you cancel a cache disk subscription, make sure that you have synchronized all data from the cache disk to the bucket. After data synchronization, we recommend that you unmount the share that uses the cache disk from the client and delete the share before you cancel the cache disk subscription.

Log on to the Expenses and Costs console. In the left-side navigation pane, click Unsubscribe.
Select Partial Refund for Type.
In the Instance ID search box, enter the ID of the gateway or cache disk whose subscription you want to cancel and then click Search. In the Actions column corresponding to the displayed gateway or cache disk, click Unsubscribe Resource.
Note
- You can query the cache disk ID on the Caches tab of the gateway details page.
- If the expiration time of a cache disk subscription is the same as that of the gateway subscription, canceling the gateway subscription also cancels the cache disk subscription. If the expiration time of a cache disk subscription is different from that of the gateway subscription, you must cancel the cache disk subscription first.
On the Unsubscribe Resource page, follow the instructions to cancel the subscription.

After the unsubscription application is submitted, you can click Orders to view the unsubscription details.
