Before you can use the features provided by Bastionhost, you must purchase one or more bastion hosts. You can select bastion host specifications based on your business requirements. This topic describes how to purchase a bastion host.
Procedure
Go to the Bastionhost buy page.
On the Bastionhost buy page, specify bastion host specifications based on the following table.
Parameter
Description
Region
The region in which you want to purchase a bastion host.
We recommend that you select the region of the Elastic Compute Service (ECS) instances that you want to manage. You can log on to the ECS console to view the region where your ECS instances are deployed. If your bastion host and your ECS instances are not in the same region, the bastion host and the ECS instances cannot access each other over an internal network. In this case, you can use Cloud Enterprise Network (CEN) or the network domain feature of Bastionhost to implement cross-region access over an internal network.
For more information about CEN, see What is CEN?
For more information about the network domain feature, see Use the network domain feature.
WarningYou cannot change the region after the bastion host is created.
Version
The edition of the bastion host.
Enterprise: supports the dual-engine mode and provides O&M capabilities, such as database O&M and management, automatic password rotation of Linux servers, webpage-based O&M, and centralized O&M in hybrid cloud scenarios by using the network domain feature. This ensures enhanced stability and reliability. When your bastion host runs as normal, the two engines work at the same time. This improves O&M efficiency. If a single point of failure (SPOF) occurs, your bastion host automatically switches between the two engines. This ensures normal running of your business. The Enterprise edition supports higher specifications and provides higher performance than the Basic edition. The Enterprise edition allows you to perform efficient and stable O&M on 1,000 or more assets.
Basic Edition: runs only in single-engine mode. In this mode, you can perform O&M and audit operations.
For more information, see Functions and features.
Plan
The number of server assets that the bastion host can manage.
Extra Bandwidth
The extra public bandwidth of the bastion host. By default, the plan that you purchase comes with a certain amount of public bandwidth. If the default public bandwidth cannot meet your requirements, you can select an extra bandwidth plan when you purchase a bastion host.
Valid values: 0 to 200. Unit: Mbit/s. The value must be a multiple of 10.
Extended Storage Plans
The storage plan that provides additional storage capacity for a bastion host. When you purchase a bastion host, a specific amount of storage space is automatically configured. If the storage space cannot meet your business requirements, you need to configure the Extended Storage Plans parameter when you purchase a bastion host.
Resource Group
The resource group to which the bastion host belongs.
Quantity
The number of bastion hosts that you want to purchase.
Duration
The validity period of the bastion host.
NoteWe recommend that you select Auto-renewal. This prevents your service from being affected when bastion hosts are stopped or released due to expiration. If you select Auto-renewal, fees are automatically deducted from your account balance based on the actual prices before the instance expires. The auto-renewal cycle is one month. You can disable auto-renewal at any time.
