Procedure

The following procedure provides an example on how to upgrade a bastion host of Basic Edition.

Warning

A bastion host that is being upgraded is in the Updating Configuration state. The upgrade process requires 20 minutes, and a service interruption that lasts approximately 1 minute occurs. We recommend that you upgrade your bastion host during off-peak hours.

  1. Log on to the Bastionhost console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Basic Edition & Enterprise Edition.

  3. On the Instances page, find the bastion host that you want to upgrade and click Upgrade.

  4. On the bastionhost | Upgrade/Downgrade page, configure the parameters to upgrade the bastion host.

    Important

You can use a bastion host of Basic Edition to manage a maximum of 500 assets. If you set the Assets parameter to a value that is greater than 500, the edition of the bastion host is switched to Enterprise Edition.

  5. Read and select Terms of Service, click Buy Now, and complete the payment.

The bastion host after the upgrade is still subject to its original lifecycle.
