Synthetic Monitoring Pro Edition supports the pay-as-you-go billing method. You are charged based on your resource usage. Bills are generated and fees are deducted from the balance of your Alibaba Cloud account at the end of each billing cycle. This topic describes the billable items of Synthetic Monitoring Pro Edition.
From June 1, 2024, Synthetic Monitoring will no longer provide the pay-as-you-go billing method and subscription resources for new users. For more information, see [Product changes] Discontinuation of the activation of Synthetic Monitoring.
Billing
Synthetic Monitoring charges fees based on the number of synthetic tests. Bills are generated and fees are deducted every day.
After Synthetic Monitoring Pro Edition is activated, it provides a free quota of 3,000 synthetic tests for detection points deployed in data centers or Lastmile every month.
ImportantNot that if you use nodes in regions other than the Chinese mainland to initiate synthetic tests, the quota is used five times the actual usage. Assume that you use a detection point in the China (Hong Kong) region to initiate 200 synthetic tests, 1,000 synthetic tests are offset from the quota.
The unit price of a synthetic test vary with the detection point type and geolocation.

Example:
A synthetic monitoring task is created and two PC detection points in the Chinese mainland are selected. Synthetic tests are initiated once every 5 minutes. The daily fee is calculated based on the following formula: Fee = 24 hours × 12 synthetic tests per hour × 2 detection points × 0.0046 = USD 2.6496.
