Description of editions
Edition | Description | Scenario | Supported engine version |
---|---|---|---|
Master-replica Edition | The Master-replica Edition uses an architecture that contains one primary instance and up to five read-only instances. If no read-only instance is created, the architecture is cost-effective and is equal to the architecture of the Basic Edition. You can create up to five read-only instances for an ApsaraDB MyBase for MySQL instance of the Master-replica Edition based on your business requirements. Read-only instances do not have replicas and can be used to perform disaster recovery. This helps ensure high stability and high availability, and allows you to perform flexible resource management. For more information, see Master-replica Edition. |

High-availability Edition | The High-availability Edition uses an architecture that contains one primary instance,
one secondary instance, and no read-only instance. You can create up to seven read-only
instances for an ApsaraDB MyBase for MySQL instance of the High-availability Edition.
By default, this architecture is used by an ApsaraDB MyBase for MySQL instance of
the High-availability Edition that you purchase.
