Bastionhost:Billing

Last Updated:Aug 02, 2024

Bastionhost supports only the subscription billing method. Before you purchase a bastion host, we recommend that you learn about the billing rules of Bastionhost. This topic describes the billing rules of Bastionhost.

Billing cycle

The billing cycle of a subscription bastion host is the time commitment you make when you purchase the bastion host (based on UTC+8). The billing cycle begins at the time when the subscription resource is purchased or renewed (accurate to the second) and ends at 00:00:00 on the day after the expiration date.

Note

The billing cycles of subscription resources are in the unit of calendar years or months.

Specifications

Bastionhost are offered based on editions and flexible specifications such as the number of assets that you can use a bastion host to manage. We recommend that you select specifications based on the required edition and based on your business requirements. The following table describes the specifications that you must specify to purchase a bastion host.

Specification

Description

Plan

The number of server assets that a bastion host can manage. We recommend that you specify this parameter based on the actual number of servers you want to use the bastion host to manage and the number of assets that you may use the bastion host to manage in the future.

Extra Bandwidth

After you purchase the bastion host, the bandwidth of the bastion host is automatically provisioned. If the default bandwidth cannot meet your business requirements, you can configure Extra Bandwidth. For more information, see Billing rules.

Note

If you want to establish multiple sessions to simultaneously upload or download large files or perform complex GUI-based operations from a remote desktop, we recommend that you purchase extra bandwidth resources.

Extended Storage Plans

After you purchase the bastion host, the storage of the bastion host is automatically provisioned. If the default storage capacity cannot meet your business requirements, you can configure the Extended Storage Plans parameter. For more information, see Billing rules.

Billing rules

The price charged for a bastion host varies based on the region where the bastion host is deployed. You can select a region to deploy your bastion host based on your business requirements.

Note

If you want to use a bastion host to manage assets, we recommend that you deploy the bastion host in the same region as the assets. If the bastion host and the assets reside in different regions, you must ensure the network connectivity between the bastion host and the assets.

Important
  • RDP-based O&M sessions consume more underlying resources than SSH-based O&M sessions. Therefore, the maximum number of concurrent RDP-based O&M sessions is smaller than that of concurrent SSH-based O&M sessions.

  • When you use a bastion host to perform O&M operations on databases, a single O&M session may contain multiple concurrent connections. In this case, the maximum number of concurrent sessions that can be established is smaller than the concurrent session quota of the bastion host. For example, if you query multiple databases in a database O&M session, multiple connections may be established. When the total number of connections reaches the upper limit, overload protection is triggered for the bastion host to block new sessions. For more information about the maximum number of concurrent sessions supported by a bastion host, see Limits.

Expiration

  • If you do not renew your bastion host within seven days after the bastion host expires, the bastion host no longer provides services, and you cannot log on to the console of the bastion host.

  • If you do not renew your bastion host within the grace period of seven days, the bastion host is released. In this case, the configuration data and audit data of the bastion host are deleted.

Refunds

Bastionhost does not provide a money-back guarantee.
