Alibaba Cloud Showcases Inclusive Technology Ecosystem Empowering Businesses to Grow in Asia Pacific

Alibaba Cloud showcased its commitment to building a more inclusive platform by unveiling a slate of new collaborations and products at the Alibaba Cloud APAC Summit.

Singapore, May 30, 2019 - Alibaba Cloud, the data intelligence backbone of Alibaba Group, today showcased its commitment to building a more inclusive platform in the region by unveiling a slate of new collaborations and products at the Alibaba Cloud APAC Summit. Alibaba Cloud is deploying a number of proven technologies to empower both APAC customers and ecosystem partners in the digital era.

At the Summit, Alibaba Cloud launched a landmark China Gateway Program with 8 local partners with the signing ceremony witnessed by Guest of Honor Mr. Chee Hong Tat, Senior Minister of State for Trade and Industry and Education, Singapore.

Partners supporting the initiative include the Info-communications Media Development Authority (IMDA), Enterprise Singapore, DBS SME Banking, Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCCI), Singapore Management University Academy (SMU Academy), SGTech, Action Community for Entrepreneurship (ACE) and TechNode.

The program leverages the accumulated technological knowledge and experience of Alibaba Cloud, which has powered Alibaba Group's growth into a world-leading company, to help local businesses capture and capitalize on growth opportunities in Asia and China. Through the local partners in Singapore and around the region, Alibaba Cloud will provide firms of all sizes with an in-depth immersion program on doing business in China, connecting them to Chinese companies and consumers via the Alibaba ecosystem.

Alibaba Cloud continues to empower its partners to thrive in the ecosystem by better capturing and capitalizing on growth opportunities in Asia Pacific. Recent examples of partnerships in the region include Sena Traffic Systems (Sena), Malaysia's leading smart traffic system controller and Adira Finance, Indonesia's technology pioneer in financial services.

Alibaba Cloud has the largest infrastructure footprint in the Asia Pacific region, with 15 availability zones outside mainland China, covering Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, Malaysia, Indonesia, India and Japan markets. It is also the only global cloud provider with local data centers in Indonesia and Malaysia, as well as launching the first cloud-based Anti-DDos Scrubbing Center in Malaysia last year as an additional layer of protection for customers.

Earlier this year, Alibaba Cloud became the first cloud provider to secure the Association of Banks in Singapore (ABS)'s Outsourced Services Providers Audit Report (OSPAR) validation. This accreditation is designed to support the financial services industry in reducing compliance-associated cost while maintaining the security of outsourced data storage and management. Alibaba Cloud also has 70 other security and compliance accreditations worldwide.
