PolarDB:Manually scale up storage capacity

更新時間:Jul 26, 2024

You can manually scale up the storage capacity of a cluster that uses the subscription storage billing method. This topic describes how to manually scale up storage capacity.

Background information

After the purchased storage capacity is exhausted, your cluster still can be used normally. Data that exceeds the purchased storage capacity is billed on a pay-as-you-go basis. If you purchase a storage plan, excess storage usage is counted against the available account in the storage plan first. After the storage plan is exhausted, you are charged on a pay-as-you-go basis. For example, you purchase 100 GB of storage space that uses the subscription billing method and a storage plan of 50 GB, but have 200 GB of data. For the 100 GB of data that exceeds the purchased storage capacity, 50 GB is deducted from the storage plan. The remaining 50 GB is billed on a pay-as-you-go basis.

Usage notes

You can manually scale up only the storage capacity of a cluster that uses the subscription storage billing method. If a serverless cluster uses the pay-as-you-go storage billing method, you do not need to select the storage capacity because the storage capacity is automatically scaled.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the PolarDB console.

  2. In the upper-left corner, select the region where the cluster to which you want to connect is deployed.

  3. Find the cluster and click its ID.

  4. In the Distributed Storage section of the Basic Information page, click Manually Scale Up.

  5. On the Change Configurations page, select the required Storage Capacity, select the Terms of Service, and then click Buy Now.

  6. On the Purchase page, confirm the unpaid order and click Purchase.
