If you purchase an instance whose network type is Internet, only the public endpoint is provided for the instance, and you can access the instance only over the Internet. To improve network stability, you can change the network type of the instance to virtual private cloud (VPC). This way, you can access the instance over a VPC. If you select an invalid VPC when you purchase an instance or applications are migrated to another VPC, you can change the VPC for the instance. This topic describes how to change the network type of a Microservices Engine (MSE) instance from Internet to VPC. This topic also describes how to change the VPC of an instance.
Prerequisites
MSE is activated. For more information, see Activate MSE.
An instance is created. For more information, see Create an instance.
Change the network type of an MSE instance from Internet to VPC
Log on to the MSE console, and select a region in the top navigation bar.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose Microservices Registry > Instances.
On the Instances page, click the name of the instance.
In the Network Information section of the Basic Information page, click Configure VPC.
In the Configure VPC dialog box, select a VPC and a vSwitch based on your business requirements, and click OK.
After you add VPC information, you can check whether the VPC and vSwitch are displayed on the Basic Information page.
Change the VPC of an MSE instance
After you change the VPC to which an MSE instance belongs, other services that belong to the original VPC cannot access the instance. These services include ECS and ACK.
After you change the VPC, the original internal endpoint is deleted. After the system completes the change, the new internal endpoint is displayed.
You can change the VPC of an MSE instance but cannot delete the VPC.
Log on to the MSE console, and select a region in the top navigation bar.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose Microservices Registry > Instances.
On the Instances page, click the name of the instance.
In the Network Information section of the Basic Information page, click Configure VPC.
In the Configure VPC dialog box, select a VPC and a vSwitch based on your business requirements, and click OK.
After the change is complete, you can check whether the new VPC and vSwitch are displayed on the Basic Information page.
