This topic describes how to create the following types of resource scenarios in Resource Orchestration Service (ROS): resource replication scenario, resource management scenario, resource migration scenario, and resource detection scenario.
Create a resource replication scenario
Log on to the ROS console.
In the left-side navigation pane, click Scenarios.
In the top navigation bar, select a region where you want to create the scenario from the region drop-down list.
On the Scenarios page, click Create Scenario.
In the Create Scenario dialog box, specify Description and select Resource Replication as Select Scenario Type.
Configure the parameters in the Resource Range section.
Select resources that are associated with specified tags.
Select Source Tag as Method.
In the Source Tag section, configure Tag Key and Tag Value based on your business requirements.
NoteSpecify tags that are added to existing resources. You can specify up to 10 tags.
(Optional) Select resource types from the Resource Type drop-down list.
You can select up to 15 resource types.
Select resources that belong to a specified resource group.
Select Source Resource Group as Method.
Select a resource group from the Source Resource Group drop-down list.
(Optional) Select resource types from the Resource Type drop-down list.
You can select up to 15 resource types.
Select specified resources.
Select Source Resource as Method.
In the Source Resource section, select resource types from the Resource Type drop-down list and resource IDs from the Resource ID drop-down list.
You can select up to 20 resource types.
In the Configure Scenario section, configure parameters for resources that you want to replicate.
Parameter
Description
Delete Resource
Valid values:
No: Retains the resources when the generated stack is deleted after the resources are replicated to the stack.
Yes: Deletes the resources when the generated stack is deleted after the resources are replicated to the stack. You can specify the resources that you want to retain in the Delete Stack dialog box when you delete the stack.
Destination Region
The destination region of the resources. By default, the region of the source resources is used.
Destination Zone
The destination zone of the resources. By default, if you replicate resources within the same region, the zone of the source resources is used. If you replicate resources across regions, the system automatically selects a zone.
Destination VPC
The destination virtual private cloud (VPC) of the resources. By default, if you replicate resources within the same region, the VPC of the source resources is used. If you replicate resources across regions, the system automatically creates a VPC.
NoteMake sure that the VPC CIDR blocks of the replicated resources contain the VPC CIDR blocks of the source resources.
Destination vSwitch
The destination vSwitch of the resources. By default, if you replicate resources within the same region, the vSwitch of the source resources is used. If you replicate resources across regions, the system automatically creates a vSwitch.
NoteMake sure that the vSwitch CIDR blocks of the replicated resources contain the vSwitch CIDR blocks of the source resources.
Replicate ECS Instance Data
This parameter takes effect only if the source resources contain an Elastic Compute Service (ECS) instance. If you select Replicate ECS Instance Data, ROS replicates the data on the ECS instance. To ensure data consistency, you must stop the source ECS instance before ROS replicates the instance data.
Tags
You can add tags to or remove tags from resources.
NoteYou can add up to 20 tags to each resource.
Click Create.
After the scenario is created, Created appears in the Status column on the Scenarios page.
Create a resource management scenario
Log on to the ROS console.
In the left-side navigation pane, click Scenarios.
In the top navigation bar of the Scenarios page, select a region where you want to create the scenario from the region drop-down list.
On the Scenarios page, click Create Scenario.
In the Create Scenario dialog box, specify a description for the scenario and set the scenario type to Resource Management.
Configure the parameters in the Resource Range section.
Select resources that are associated with specified tags.
Select Source Tag as Method.
In the Source Tag section, configure Tag Key and Tag Value based on your business requirements.
NoteSpecify tags that are added to existing resources. You can specify up to 10 tags.
(Optional) Select resource types from the Resource Type drop-down list.
You can select up to 15 resource types.
Select resources that belong to a specified resource group.
Select Source Resource Group as Method.
Select a resource group from the Source Resource Group drop-down list.
(Optional) Select resource types from the Resource Type drop-down list.
You can select up to 15 resource types.
Select specified resources.
Select Source Resource as Method.
In the Source Resource section, select resource types from the Resource Type drop-down list and resource IDs from the Resource ID drop-down list.
You can select up to 20 resource types.
Specify Delete Resource. Valid values:
No: retains resources if you delete a stack that you use to manage the resources.
Yes: deletes resources by default if you delete a stack that you use to manage the resources. If you specify resources that you want to retain in the Delete Stack dialog box when you delete the stack, only the specified resources are retained.
Click Create.
After the scenario is created, Created appears in the Status column on the Scenarios page.
Create a resource migration scenario
Log on to the ROS console.
In the left-side navigation pane, click Scenarios.
In the top navigation bar, select a region where you want to create the scenario from the region drop-down list.
On the Scenarios page, click Create Scenario.
In the Create Scenario dialog box, specify Description and select Resource Migration as Select Scenario Type.

Destination Region.
The destination region of the resources. By default, the region of the source resources is used.
Destination Zone

In the Resource Range section, select resources based on your business requirements.
Select all resources.
Select All Resources as Method.
In the Configure Scenario section, select regions where you want to detect resources from the Detected Regions drop-down list.
If you do not select a region, resources in the region where the resource scenario resides are detected.
In the Tags section, click Add and add tags.

Select resources that are associated with source tags.
Select Source Tag as Method.
In the Source Tag section, configure Tag Key and Tag Value based on your business requirements.
NoteYou can specify up to five tags that are associated with existing resources.
(Optional) Select resource types from the Resource Type drop-down list.
You can select up to 15 resource types.
In the Configure Scenario section, select regions where you want to detect resources from the Detected Regions drop-down list.
If you do not select a region, resources in the region where the resource scenario resides are detected.
