IPv6 Gateway:Create and manage an IPv6 gateway

最終更新日:Sep 29, 2024

IPv6 Gateway are used to control the IPv6 traffic of VPC. After you create an IPv6 gateway for a VPC, you can purchase IPv6 Internet bandwidth for the IPv6 gateway and create egress-only rules. This way, you can control the inbound and outbound IPv6 traffic of the VPC.

Regions that support IPv6 gateways

Area

Region

China

China (Qingdao), China (Beijing), China (Zhangjiakou), China (Hohhot), China (Ulanqab), China (Hangzhou), China (Shanghai), China (Nanjing - Local Region), China (Fuzhou - Local Region), China (Shenzhen), China (Heyuan), China (Guangzhou), China (Chengdu), and China (Hong Kong)

Asia Pacific

Philippines (Manila), Singapore, Japan (Tokyo), South Korea (Seoul), Indonesia (Jakarta), Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur), and Thailand (Bangkok)

Europe and Americas

US (Virginia), US (Silicon Valley), and Germany (Frankfurt)

Middle East

SAU (Riyadh - Partner Region)

Important

The SAU (Riyadh - Partner Region) region is operated by a partner.

Create an IPv6 gateway

  1. Log on to the IPv6 Gateway console.
  2. In the top navigation bar, select the region where you want to create an IPv6 gateway.

  3. On the IPv6 Gateway page, click Create IPv6 Gateway.

  4. In the Create IPv6 Gateway dialog box, configure the parameters that are described in the following table and click OK.

    Parameter

    Description

    Resource Group

Select the resource group to which the IPv6 gateway belongs.

    Tag Key

Select or enter a tag key.

    Tag Value

Select or enter a tag value.

    VPC

Select the VPC for which you want to create an IPv6 gateway.

    • Only one IPv6 gateway can be created for each VPC. If a VPC cannot be selected, it indicates that an IPv6 gateway may have been created for the VPC.

    • If a custom route whose destination CIDR block is ::/0 does not exist in a VPC, the system automatically adds the custom route to the VPC when you create an IPv6 gateway for the VPC.

    • If a custom route whose destination CIDR block is ::/0 already exists in a VPC, the system does not add the custom route again when you create an IPv6 gateway for the VPC. For more information about IPv6 routes, see Create and manage IPv6 routes.

    Note

After an IPv6 gateway is created, you cannot change the VPC that is associated with the IPv6 gateway.

    IPv6 CIDR Block Type

Specify whether to assign an IPv6 CIDR block to the VPC. In this example, Assign BGP (Multi-ISP) is selected.

    Note

This parameter takes effect only when IPv6 CIDR blocks are disabled for the VPC to which the selected IPv6 gateway belongs.

    Name

Enter a name for the IPv6 gateway.

Automatically Enable IPv6 for All vSwitches

Specify whether to select Automatically Enable IPv6 for All vSwitches.

If you do not select this option, you can go to the vSwitch page to enable IPv6.

    Note

This parameter takes effect only when IPv6 CIDR blocks are disabled for the VPC to which the selected IPv6 gateway belongs.

Modify the basic information about an IPv6 gateway

After you create an IPv6 gateway, you can modify the name and description of the IPv6 gateway.

  1. Log on to the IPv6 Gateway console.
  2. In the top navigation bar, select the region where the IPv6 gateway is deployed.
  3. On the IPv6 Gateway page, click the ID of the IPv6 gateway whose basic information you want to modify.

  4. In the Basic Information section, click Edit to change the name or the description of the IPv6 gateway.

Delete an IPv6 gateway

If your VPC no longer needs to communicate with another network over IPv6, you can delete the IPv6 gateway of the VPC. Before you delete an IPv6 gateway, you must delete the egress-only rules of the IPv6 gateway. For more information, see the Delete an egress-only rule section of the Create and manage an egress-only rule topic.

  1. Log on to the IPv6 Gateway console.
  2. In the top navigation bar, select the region where the IPv6 gateway is deployed.
  3. On the IPv6 Gateway page, find the IPv6 gateway that you want to delete and click Delete in the Actions column.
  4. In the Delete IPv6 Gateway message, click OK.
