An image contains the OS and related configurations required to create a cloud computer. Elastic Desktop Service provides you with system images and custom images. When you create cloud computers or back up cloud computer data across regions, you can copy the image of a cloud computer to quickly create cloud computers that have identical configurations or cloud computer data. This topic describes how to copy an image.
Prerequisites
A custom image is created. For more information, see Create an image or Create an image by using a snapshot.
Limits
You can only copy custom images that you created.
You cannot copy image copies.
You can copy images only from the current region to another region. If you want to share images across regions, see the Scenario section in this topic.
You are not charged for image copies.
Image copies occupy the image quota in the region where cloud computers reside. For more information, see Feature limits.
After you copy an image, you can obtain the image that has the same configurations but a different ID and name in the destination region.
