This topic describes how to manage software clients of Alibaba Cloud Workspace that are used by end users to connect to cloud computers. This topic also describes how to configure forcible updates for the software clients.
Background information
The software clients of Alibaba Cloud Workspace include Windows clients, macOS clients, and mobile clients (Android clients and iOS clients). To use the features described in this topic, make sure that the version of your software client is not earlier than 7.0.
View information about a software client
After an end user uses your organization ID to log on to a software client, you can view information about the software client in the Elastic Desktop Service (EDS) Enterprise console.
Procedure
Log on to the EDS Enterprise console.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose
.On the Desktop & Mobile Clients page, you can view information about the automatically added software client. The information includes the client type and last logon user.
If you want to specify a name for a software client for easy identification, click the icon in the Terminal Alias column, enter a name, and then click OK.
If you want to delete a software client, click Delete in the Actions column and follow the on-screen instructions to proceed.
What to do next
You can specify logon terminals to limit the type of terminals that end users can use. For more information, see Specify Alibaba Cloud Workspace terminals for convenience accounts.
Configure forcible updates for software clients
You can configure forcible updates for Windows clients and macOS clients. This way, the software clients are always up-to-date and end users can use all features on cloud computers in a safe manner. After you configure forcible updates, EDS Enterprise pushes forcible update tasks to Windows clients and macOS clients in your Alibaba Cloud account when updates become available. When end users log on to the software clients, they must update the clients before they can connect to cloud computers.
Log on to the EDS Enterprise console.
In the left-side navigation pane, choose
.In the upper-right corner of the page, click Configure Terminal Update.
On the Software Clients tab of the Configure Terminal Update page, turn on or turn off the Forcible Update switch based on your business requirements.
