Simple Log Service provides locally redundant storage (LRS) and zone-redundant storage (ZRS) to ensure data durability and availability. LRS enables data redundancy within one zone, and ZRS enables data redundancy across multiple zones.
LRS
LRS stores multiple copies of your data on multiple devices of different facilities in the same zone. LRS ensures data durability and availability even if hardware failures occur.
ZRS
ZRS stores multiple copies of your data across multiple zones in the same region. If a zone becomes unavailable, data that is stored in other zones in the same region is still accessible.
If a data center becomes unavailable due to network disconnections, power outages, or other disasters, Simple Log Service continues to provide highly consistent services. This way, data is not lost during failovers. This helps meet the requirements of key business systems for minute-level access recovery and zero recovery point objective (RPO).
Only newly created projects support ZRS. Existing projects do not support migration to ZRS.
Simple Log Service ZRS is in public preview. To enable ZRS, submit a ticket.
Simple Log Service ZRS is supported in the following regions: China (Hangzhou), China (Shanghai), China (Beijing), China (Zhangjiakou), China (Ulanqab), China (Shenzhen), China (Hong Kong), and Singapore.
ZRS stores multiple data copies across multiple zones in a region. If the region becomes unavailable, data is inaccessible.
Differences between LRS and ZRS
The following table compares LRS and ZRS in terms of availability and pricing.
Storage redundancy type | Availability | Pricing |
LRS | 99.9% |
