This topic describes the Simple Log Service endpoints for different network types.
View endpoints
When you use the internal endpoints of Simple Log Service, you must use the internal Domain Name System (DNS) server of Alibaba Cloud. The server IP addresses are 100.100.2.136 and 100.100.2.138. If you do not use the internal DNS server, you may not obtain valid virtual IP addresses (VIPs) for the internal endpoints. As a result, access to Simple Log Service fails.
An endpoint is a URL that is used to access Simple Log Service. Simple Log Service provides endpoints for different network types, such as the Internet or an Alibaba Cloud internal network.
In the Projects section, click the project that you want to manage.
On the Project Overview page of the project, view the endpoints for the region where the project resides.
Select an endpoint
You can use a public endpoint or an internal endpoint to access Simple Log Service. The following table describes the differences between public endpoints and internal endpoints in terms of network latency and billing rules.
Item | Internal endpoint | Public endpoint |
Protocol | HTTP and HTTPS | HTTP and HTTPS |
Scenario | Simple Log Service supports communication with Alibaba Cloud services over an internal network. For example, if you want to access Simple Log Service from an Elastic Compute Service (ECS) instance that resides in the same region as Simple Log Service, we recommend that you use an internal endpoint. | Simple Log Service supports access over the Internet. For example, if you want to access Simple Log Service by using an API or SDK from an on-premises server over the Internet, we recommend that you use a public endpoint. |
Billing | You are charged for the billable items of Simple Log Service. For more information, see Billable items of Simple Log Service. | Compared with an internal endpoint, a public endpoint involves one more billable item: read traffic over the Internet. For more information, see Billable items. |
Public endpoints
An endpoint is a URL that allows access to each project in the region of Simple Log Service and the logs in the projects. The endpoint is associated with the region where each project resides. Simple Log Service is available in multiple regions. The following table describes the public Simple Log Service endpoints for each supported region.

Internal endpoints
You can also use an internal endpoint to call Simple Log Service API operations from an ECS instance. An internal endpoint is accessible over the classic network or a virtual private cloud (VPC). The following table describes the internal Simple Log Service endpoints for each supported region.
If you use the following internal endpoints when you call Simple Log Service API operations, only HTTP and HTTPS are supported.
Access to Simple Log Service over internal endpoints does not generate Internet traffic on ECS instances. As a result, the Internet bandwidth resources of the ECS instances are not consumed.

Endpoint for global acceleration
In addition to Alibaba Cloud internal networks and the Internet, you can use the global acceleration feature for Simple Log Service to collect data. Compared with access to Simple Log Service over the Internet, access to Simple Log Service by using the global acceleration feature provides lower latency and higher stability. This feature is more suitable for data collection and consumption scenarios that require reliable and fast data transmission. For more information, see Overview of global acceleration.
The following endpoint for global acceleration is used in all regions:
log-global.aliyuncs.com
By default, the global acceleration feature is disabled. You must enable the feature for use. For more information, see Log collection acceleration.
Custom domain names
You can create a custom domain name. For more information, see Register a generic domain name.
After you bind a custom domain name in the Simple Log Service console, you must add a resolution record that maps the domain name to Simple Log Service in the Alibaba Cloud DNS console. For more information, see Add an A record for a website domain name.
