    Server Load Balancer:CLB billing adjustments

    Valued Alibaba Cloud customers, Alibaba Cloud made some adjustments to the billable items of Classic Load Balancer (CLB) to increase the billing transparency and accuracy.

    00:00:00 (UTC+8), December 1, 2024.

    Adjustment

    The following adjustments are made to the billable items of CLB:

    • Change of billable item name: instance fee is renamed public IP retention fee. The unit price of the billable item remains unchanged. You are charged public IP retention fees only for Internet-facing CLB instances. This adjustment aims to increase the billing accuracy and help you keep track of your expenses.

    • New billable item: instance fee. The unit price is USD 0.021 per hour.

      Note

      • The instance fee applies to all Internet-facing and internal-facing CLB instances that are created after 00:00:00 (UTC+8), December 1, 2024.

      • CLB instances that are created before 00:00:00 (UTC+8), December 1, 2024 are billed based on the previous billable items until 23:59:59 (UTC+8), November 30, 2025.

    2. Is the billing of CLB instances created before 00:00:00 (UTC+8), December 1, 2024 changed after the adjustments?

      A new billable item called instance fee is added to the bills of CLB instances created before 00:00:00 (UTC+8), December 1, 2024. However, the fee of the billable item is USD 0. The actual amount is not affected before 23:59:59 (UTC+8), November 30, 2025.

    3. Am I charged instance fees if I change the configurations of CLB instances that are created before 00:00:00 (UTC+8), December 1, 2024?

      Instance fees are charged only for CLB instances that are created after 00:00:00 (UTC+8), December 1, 2024. The billing of CLB instances created before 00:00:00 (UTC+8), December 1, 2024 is not affected until 23:59:59 (UTC+8), November 30, 2025.
