Service Catalog:Manage TagOptions

This topic describes how to manage TagOptions. You can create, delete, disable, enable, associate, and disassociate a TagOption. You can also modify the value of a TagOption.

Create a TagOption

  1. Log on to the Service Catalog console as the administrator.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Administrator > TagOptions library.

  3. On the TagOptions library page, click Create new TagOption.

  4. In the Create new TagOption dialog box, configure the Key and Value parameters and click Confirm.

    By default, the TagOption immediately enters the Activate state after the TagOption is created.

Modify the value of a TagOption

  1. On the TagOptions library page, find the TagOption whose value you want to modify and click Update in the Operation column.

  2. In the Update TagOption dialog box, enter a new TagOption value and click OK.

    Note

    You can modify only the TagOption value. You cannot modify the TagOption key.

Disable a TagOption

  1. On the TagOptions library page, find the TagOption that you want to disable and click Deactivate in the Operation column.

  2. In the Deactivate TagOption message, check and confirm the TagOption key-value pair, and then click OK.

    You cannot associate a TagOption that is in the Deactivate state with a product portfolio or product.

Enable a TagOption

  1. On the TagOptions library page, find the TagOption that you want to enable and click Activate in the Operation column.

  2. In the Activate TagOption message, check and confirm the TagOption key-value pair, and then click OK.

Delete a TagOption

  1. On the TagOptions library page, find the TagOption that you want to delete and click Delete in the Operation column.

  2. In the Delete message, check and confirm the TagOption key-value pair, and then click OK.

Associate a TagOption with a product portfolio

  1. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Administrator > Portfolio management.

  2. On the Portfolio management page, click the name of the product portfolio with which you want to associate a TagOption.

  3. On the details page of the product portfolio, click the TagOption tab, select the tag that you want to associate, and then click Associate.

  4. In the Associate TagOption message, check and confirm the TagOption key-value pair, and then click OK.

Disassociate a TagOption from a product portfolio

  1. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Administrator > Portfolio management.

  2. On the Portfolio management page, click the name of the product portfolio from which you want to disassociate a TagOption.

  3. On the details page of the product portfolio, click the TagOption tab, select the tag that you want to disassociate, and then click Disassociate.

  4. In the Disassociate TagOption message, check and confirm the TagOption key-value pair, and then click OK.

Associate a TagOption with a product

  1. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Administrator > Product management.

  2. On the Product management page, click the name of the product with which you want to associate a TagOption.

  3. On the product details page, click the TagOption tab, select the tag that you want to associate, and then click Associate.

  4. In the Associate TagOption message, check and confirm the TagOption key-value pair, and then click OK.

Disassociate a TagOption from a product

  1. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Administrator > Product management.

  2. On the Product management page, click the name of the product from which you want to disassociate a TagOption.

  3. On the product details page, click the TagOption tab, select the tag that you want to disassociate, and then click Disassociate.

  4. In the Disassociate TagOption message, check and confirm the TagOption key-value pair, and then click OK.

What to do next

After the administrator associates a TagOption with a product or the product portfolio to which the product belongs, Service Catalog automatically adds the corresponding tag to the product instance when an end user launches the product or updates the product instance.
