    Service Catalog:Manage a product portfolio

    A product portfolio in Service Catalog allows you to add products and configure constraints and permissions for centralized management. Create a product portfolio to manage multiple products at a time. You can update or delete product portfolios as your business requirements change.

    Prerequisites

    You have the administrative rights of Service Catalog. For more information, see Grant permissions to the administrator.

    Create a product portfolio

    1. Log on to the Service Catalog console as the administrator.
    2. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Administrator > Portfolio management.
    3. On the Portfolio management page, click Create portfolio.
    4. On the Create portfolio page, configure the following parameters and click Confirm.
      Parameter Description Example
      Name The name of the product portfolio. Elastic Compute Service (ECS) and Server Load Balancer (SLB) product portfolio
      Provider The provider of the product portfolio. If you have questions about the permissions configured in the product portfolio, contact the provider. Alice
      Description A detailed description of the product portfolio. Manage ECS and SLB products in a centralized manner

      The product portfolio is created and the portfolio details page appears.

    Update a product portfolio

    1. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Administrator > Portfolio management.
    2. On the Portfolio management page, find the product portfolio that you want to modify and click Edit in the Operation column.
    3. In the Modify portfolio dialog box, modify the values of Name, Provider, and Description.
    4. Click Confirm.

      The product portfolio is updated with the new values.

    Delete a product portfolio

    Before you delete a product portfolio, remove all products from it. For more information, see Remove a product from the product portfolio.

    Note Make sure that the product portfolio is no longer in use before you delete it. If you delete a product portfolio that is still in use, end users can no longer manage the products in the product portfolio.
    1. In the left-side navigation pane, choose Administrator > Portfolio management.
    2. On the Portfolio management page, find the product portfolio that you want to delete and click Delete in the Operation column.
    3. In the Delete Portfolio message, verify the information and click OK.

      The product portfolio is permanently deleted.
