ApsaraDB for SelectDB:Specify a maintenance window

Last Updated:May 09, 2024

To ensure the stability of ApsaraDB for SelectDB instances, Alibaba Cloud occasionally performs operations such as updating and maintaining instances. We recommend that you specify a maintenance window that is during off-peak hours for instances. This prevents impacts on your business.

Usage notes

  • Before Alibaba Cloud maintains an ApsaraDB for SelectDB instance, ApsaraDB for SelectDB sends text messages or emails to the contacts that are specified within your Alibaba Cloud account.

  • When the ApsaraDB for SelectDB instance is being maintained, the state of the instance changes to Maintaining Read-only Instance. This ensures the stability of the maintenance process. If the instance is in the Maintaining Read-only Instance state, you can only view the instance information, but cannot perform operations such as changing cluster configurations, stopping clusters, or deleting clusters on the instance. It takes about 10 minutes to complete the maintenance process. After the maintenance process is complete, the state of the instance changes to Running.

  • You may encounter one or two service interruptions during the maintenance window. Make sure that your application can be automatically reconnected to the instance.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the ApsaraDB for SelectDB console.

  2. In the top navigation bar, select the region in which the instance that you want to manage resides.

  3. In the left-side navigation pane, click Instances. On the Instances page, find the instance and click the instance ID. The Instance Details page appears.

  4. In the Configuration Information section of the Instance Details page, click Modify to the right of O&M Time.

  5. In the dialog box that appears, specify a maintenance window that is during off-peak hours and click OK.
