Smart Access Gateway (SAG) allows you to connect an on-premises network to Alibaba Cloud over an Express Connect circuit, an Internet connection, or both. If you want to connect to Alibaba Cloud over an Express Connect circuit, you must use a virtual border router (VBR). If you want to connect to Alibaba Cloud over the Internet, you must use a Cloud Connect Network (CCN) instance.

Prerequisites

  • A CCN instance is created if you connect your on-premises network to Alibaba Cloud over the Internet. For more information, see Create a CCN instance.
  • An Express Connect circuit and a VBR are deployed if you connect your on-premises network to Alibaba Cloud over an Express Connect circuit. For more information, see What is Express Connect?

Procedure

  1. Log on to the Smart Access Gateway console.
  2. In the top navigation bar, select the region where your SAG instance is deployed.
  3. On the Smart Access Gateway page, use one of the following methods to open the Network Configuration tab:
    • Click the ID of the SAG instance that you want to manage. On the instance details page, click the Network Configuration tab.
    • Find the SAG instance that you want to manage and click Network Configuration in the Actions column.
  4. On the instance details page, click the Network Instance Details tab and click Attach Network in the Associated Instances Under Current Account section.

  5. In the Attach Network dialog box, set the following parameters and click OK.
    Parameter Description
    Network Type Select the type of network instance that you want to attach.
    • CCN: Connect the on-premises network to Alibaba Cloud over the Internet.
    • VBR: Connect the on-premises network to Alibaba Cloud over an Express Connect circuit.
    Resource Group Select the resource group to which the CCN instance belongs.
    Note This parameter is required when Network Type is set to CCN.
    Region If you choose to attach a VBR, you must select the region where the VBR is deployed.
    Note This parameter is required when Network Type is set to VBR.
    Network Instance Select the network instance that you want to attach.
