This topic describes how to view, modify, and delete a resource scenario, and generate a resource scenario template in the Resource Orchestration Service (ROS) console.

Prerequisites

A resource scenario is created. For more information, see Create resource scenarios.

Background information

After you create a resource scenario, the type of the resource scenario cannot be changed.

View a resource scenario

  1. Log on to the ROS console.

  2. In the left-side navigation pane, click Scenarios.

  3. In the top navigation bar, select the region where the resource scenario you want to manage resides from the region drop-down list.

  4. On the Scenarios page, click the ID of the resource scenario.

  5. On the resource scenario management page, view the details of the resource scenario.

    1. Click the Details tab to view data in the Basic Information and Resource Architecture sections.

    2. On the Details tab, view the resource details of the resource scenario.

      • Resource replication scenario

        • Click the Source Nodes tab to view the resources that are filtered from the specified resource scope of the resource scenario. Click View in the Properties column of a resource to view the details of the resource.

        • Click the New Nodes tab to view the resources that you want to replicate in the resource scenario. Click View in the Properties column of a resource to view the details of the resource.

      • Resource management scenario

In the lower-right corner of the tab, view the resources that are filtered from the specified resource scope of the resource scenario. Click View in the Properties column of a resource to view the details of the resource.

      • Resource migration scenario

        • Click the Source Nodes tab to view the resources that are filtered from the specified resource scope of the resource scenario. Click View in the Properties column of a resource to view the details of the resource.

        • Click the New Nodes tab to view the resources that you want to migrate in the resource scenario. Click View in the Properties column of a resource to view the details of the resource.

    3. Click the Stacks tab to view the stacks that are created in the resource scenario.

Modify a resource scenario

You can modify a resource scenario that is in the Failed state.

  1. In the left-side navigation pane, click Scenarios.

  2. In the top navigation bar, select the region where the resource scenario you want to manage resides from the region drop-down list.

  3. On the Scenarios page, find the resource scenario and click Modify in the Actions column.

  4. In the Modify Scenario dialog box, specify a new resource scope for the resource scenario.

    • Select resources that are associated with specified tags.

      1. Select Source Tag as Method.

      2. In the Source Tag section, configure Tag Key and Tag Value based on your business requirements.

        Note

Specify tags that are added to existing resources. You can specify up to 10 tags.

      3. (Optional) Select resource types from the Resource Type drop-down list.

You can select up to 15 resource types.

    • Select resources that belong to a specified resource group.

      1. Select Source Resource Group as Method.

      2. Select a resource group from the Source Resource Group drop-down list.

      3. (Optional) Select resource types from the Resource Type drop-down list.

You can select up to 15 resource types.

    • Select specified resources.

      1. Select Source Resource as Method.

      2. In the Source Resource section, select resource types from the Resource Type drop-down list and resource IDs from the Resource ID drop-down list.

You can select up to 20 resource types.

  5. Modify the settings of the resource scenario, and click Modify.

Delete a resource scenario

You can delete a resource scenario that is not in the Creating state.

  1. In the left-side navigation pane, click Scenarios.

  2. In the top navigation bar, select the region where the resource scenario you want to manage resides from the region drop-down list.

  3. On the Scenarios page, find the resource scenario and click Delete in the Actions column.

  4. Click OK.

    Note

After you delete the resource scenario, ROS does not delete the stacks that are associated with the resource scenario. To delete the stacks, go to the Stacks page in the ROS console. For more information, see Delete a stack.

Generate a resource scenario template

You can generate resource scenario templates from different types of resource scenarios and view the template of each resource scenario. You can also use the template to replicate, manage, or migrate resources.

  • Resource replication scenario

In the resource scenario, you can generate a template for a new node that contains a collection of resources that you want to replicate. You can modify the resources in the template, create a stack based on the modified template, and then use the stack to replicate resources. You can also replicate resources in the resource scenario. For more information, see Create a stack and Resource replication scenario.

  • Resource management scenario

In the resource scenario, you can generate a template for a source node that contains a collection of resources filtered from a specified resource scope. You can modify the resources in the template, create a stack based on the modified template, and then use the stack to manage resources. You can also manage resources in the resource scenario. For more information, see Create a stack and Resource management scenario.

  • Resource migration scenario

In the resource scenario, you can generate a template for a new node that contains a collection of resources that you want to migrate. You can modify the resources in the template, create a stack based on the modified template, and then use the stack to migrate resources. You can also migrate resources in the resource scenario. For more information, see Create a stack and Resource migration scenario.

Procedure

  1. In the left-side navigation pane, click Scenarios.

  2. In the top navigation bar, select the region where the resource scenario you want to manage resides from the region drop-down list.

  3. On the Scenarios page, click the ID of the resource scenario.

  4. On the resource scenario management page, click Create Template in the upper-right corner.

  5. In the Template Content dialog box, copy the content of the resource scenario template.

  6. Click Disable.
